Somewhere in all that other stuff... I wrote a book.
I mean, I've been working on it for 3 years, but I just finished.
I'm sure it sucks balls, but it's better than some AI would do...
Too bad it'll get lost in the shuffle somewhere.
Pro tip: Don't watch the videos about that meteor in Ohio and then go watch War Machine on Netflix.
Oh, a REAL bull?
F that! 😂
Someone hasn't seen Urban Cowboy!
(Co-starring my movie dad!)
A director friend has agreed to take on 1 of my scripts. His vision (aka budget) is actually 3x mine, but he also has direct access to an Oscar nom'd (But not A-list) actor who I had in mind. Sadly, the reality is that we may not see the inside of a sales agent's office unless we get an A lister.
Neat-o
"The Chelsea Chronicles" made the 2nd round (so far) at the ISA Fast Track Fellowship.
Hopefully it'll bounce into the top 50 next...
The Omaha Film Festival is going on this week where I have two screenplays in place as finalists.
Sadly I can't attend but I was invited to the Austin Film Festival "Hair of the dog" Brunch this coming Sunday, so if you're finishing up at SXSW, stop by and say hi.

Just joined StoryPeer... I guess we'll see how this goes.
I have 2 scripts up for claiming now, one's pretty well polished and is a finalist at Omaha (But I've never gotten any feedback on it) and the other is "done" but not really...
I saw this and I hope it's true.
I have 2 feature scripts that fall into this category.
What do you think?

Unfortunately not 😪
Haven't had a finalist there since 2015!
Now I have two!
😍
Based on previous years, you have a high probability of winning as a participant in the writer's theater. Those end up as the top 2-3.
Woot!
Two finalists at the Omaha Film Festival: The Crying Producer (feature) and Radio Contact (short) and also a semifinalist, The Chelsea Chronicles (feature), as well.
I'm so off and on here, I forget it even exists sometimes. I think partly because I see the same people on other platforms. How does one find interesting people to follow with similar interests? I've searched for orgs and festivals and stuff and so few are on here...

Another great review of out film. This time by @richardpropes.bsky.social - The Independent Critic
"Raw and uncompromising and radically truthful"

The reviews are coming in.
"The performances are terrific from the whole ensemble, but Kevin Machate really brings it all together with such a heartfelt, honest portrayal"

I got notes on BAD GIRLS today from an Emmy-winning screenwriter. It was educational. And humbling. And apparently some of the info that's being passed around between indie writers is total bullshit. He really liked the script, and after making the adjustments he suggested, I know it will be better.

Woohoo!
Just when I was feeling really good about this writing thing, here' comes the MF crash. Makes it feel like none of it's worth it.
I'm sure you guys keep track of this stuff so...
Would you mind sharing (privately) the names of (and maybe related info) for the lit managers you have queried? I never thought I'd be asking, but I apparently need a rep to contact certain people. (Which I DO understand)
