🧪This study was a springboard effort from our recent research on LEA prevalence among Boston Marathon athletes in BJSM: bjsm.bmj.com/content/59/4...
💡 Most studies included in this review used in-person educational sessions that included information on fueling/caloric intake, tailored to athlete-specific audiences. Intervention approaches and outcomes were heterogeneous, supporting the need for future research for education programming for LEA.
🆕 Systematic review out now in @plosone.org "Nutrition educational interventions for athletes related to low energy availability: A systematic review" 🧪

The value of NIH-funded research at medical schools and teaching hospitals

NIH’s proposed cuts to indirect cost rates threaten lives, innovation & economic growth.
Every $1 from NIH generates $2.5 in economic impact. Cutting indirects cripples labs, raises healthcare costs & slows medical breakthroughs. We must protect research funding!
