American aid has dried up. Europe's aid is being held up by a Putin stooge. Canada has the power to finance Ukraine's self-defense: so let's do it. www.thestar.com/opinion/star...

Meanwhile, there is a *massive* *seven-hour* anti-Orbán rock concert taking place in Budapest right now. You can watch live: www.youtube.com/live/wdp6MSm...
Trump on Truth Social: My Administration stands ready to use the full Economic Might of the United States to strengthen Hungary’s Economy, as we have done for our Great Allies in the past, if Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and the Hungarian People ever need it. We are excited to invest in the future Prosperity that will be generated by Orbán’s continued Leadership! President DONALD J. TRUMP
Trump trying to bribe the people of Hungary into re-electing Viktor Orbán.
Hell yes this @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social / John Wilson crossover.

I'm talkin' hyperreality in Toronto on Sunday. Come by!
“It’s a no-brainer. Of course we should use the aggressor’s money against it.”
Me to @justinling.ca @thestar.com on Canada's new legislation that can help #MakeRussiaPay - if the government uses it.

No you're right. It was almost certainly a disgruntled government biologist.
Sorry, the 2001 anthrax attacks literally were an inside job (in that it was likely the work of government employee Bruce Edwards Ivins.
RFK Jr thought it was Fauci and the CIA and everybody else.
He was already an anti-vaxx podcaster! He did hundreds of shows interviewing quacks, Russian stooges, and explaining how the 2001 anthrax attacks were an inside job.
i spent ages listening to that fucking show and i will not be erased!!

he'd end up confirming our control of the Northwest Passage!
if this is Trump defeating Iran, maybe we should have let him try and make Canada the 51st state after all
if you need to be invited to share analogies to ancient Rome, then you're not a true history nerd.
i was wondering who the first history nerds to interject would be
Apart from that *insane* metaphor, Vance basically acknowledges that, yup, they accepted Iran's 10-point plan — including the piece on uranium enrichment.
at least nero knew had to play the fiddle
i dunno if you can beat Bitch Hunter
Scene from the Homonym scene from 30 Rock. Contestant on a game show says: "It's always the other 10-point plan!"
He reaches for the host's cue cards: "Let me see the 10-point plan"
Host withholds cards, says "No! Never!"
niche 30 Rock meme time
Leavitt seems to be suggesting that Iran yanked its 10-point plan, submitted a different and mysterious 10-point plan while agreeing to some other 15-point plan, then immediately claimed that Trump agreed to their original 10-point plan.
Leavitt today: "The Iranians originally put forward a 10-point plan...it was literally thrown in the garbage by President Trump."
Trump yesterday: "We received a 10 point proposal from Iran, and believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate."
Ok on a serious note, it cannot be exaggerated how bad formalized Iranian control of the Strait is for the world. The entire global economy rests on an American guarantee of free commercial shipping. That guarantee is gone. We don’t know exactly what will happen but none of it will be good.
Full circle, back to Orbán's beginnings on Heroes' Square in 1989 -- when he was telling the Russians to go home.
Historic/Poetic Justice?
guys I don't think Trump is very good at making deals
Statement signed by Iran's foreign minister, saying they appreciate Trump's involvement and that "if attacks against Iran are halted...[we will cease defensive operations." And that passage through the Strait of Hormuz will continue "with due consideration of technical limitations."
Trump posted this statement to Truth Social, which includes "POTUS...acceptance of the general framework of Iran's 10-point proposal a basis for negotiations."
Then in a follow-up post, he rages that the other (official) statement is "a FRAUD" and "linked to a Fake News site (from Nigeria)."
damn autocorrect!
Worth reiterating: I don't think Trump actually agreed to any of these things. But boy, it's going to make for some messy negotiations over the next two weeks.
Iranian state TV is straight up playing Giorgio Mordor-style disco tunes.
The chryon reads: "By accepting Iran's terms, the US committed to non-aggression, continued Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz, enrichment, and lifting of all sanctions."
