Picture of street filled with people when cars are prohibited, with a prominent sign saying “road closed.”

(Also, it’s a street, not a road)

How come they keep spelling “open” wrong?

Does that street look closed to you? Only if you’re a car… and presumably that’s the real problem. #UrbanTruth

We've still got them! After an absence of over 30 years Green Hairstreak was spotted in #AshlwnCuttingLNR 4 years ago and I've found one or two every year since. Today there were 2 on the scrubby edge of this scallop near Ashlawn rd. Bridge @savebutterflies.bsky.social #Conservation #localvolunteers

In Gravity's Rainbow by T. Pynchon there is a tale of Byron the everlasting bulb who was hunted by the CIA (Committee for incandescent Anomalies). Byron had a low resistance so didn't burn out"! A deal done by Edison Co. with manufacturers to ensure electrical equipment used more power at 240V AC

65 years of natural colonisation and natural woodland expansion at Monks Wood. Entirely self-sown by Jays, thrushes & wind; zero management: no planting, thinning or fencing. Oak-Ash canopy and Hawthorn-Blackthorn understorey dominate. Roe deer, Muntjac, Grey Squirrels haven't inhibited it.

I discovered it as a site for Wall Brown butterfly that's now extinct in Warwickshire. Easier than climbing Bardon Hill.

The National Forest is a great initiative too,we have the Heart of England Forest in Warks . Both seem to be creating woodlands with great rides and open areas. There's a lot of good stuff going on. More power to your elbow too!!
