On this date in 1939 Ted Williams makes his Major League debut, going 1-4 with a Double in a 2-0 loss to the Yankees. That season Williams would go on to hit .327, with 31 HR’s, a league leading 145 RBI’s, a 1.045 OPS and a 6.7 WAR, finishing 4th for MVP.
