Well, I have a ticket. Time to spend the next 9-10 months brainstorming ways to get my ass to Glasgow! Hope to make it work!
But imagine if your garden variety anti-ai person caught wind of it - I feel that authentic opposition to generative AI as a force requires a bit more intellectual engagement than a lot of people are willing to do, because “it’s automated” or “it’s assemblage” describes great art too!
Same with “it’s the result of an automated system.” I think it’s interesting that Jackson Mac Low’s complete Stein poems, which are computerized re-navigations of Stein’s original language, saw publication last year in this moment. I didn’t see any discourse about it, but… I’m going cont’d sorry lol
I keep getting into arguments with people who confuse me for being a generative ai booster because I say don’t think “being made from appropriated materials” is a valuable reason to dismiss a work of art. Lots of great work is made that way and has been for generations!
Well, if you end up anywhere in North America (I’m sure Vancouver and Mexico City would love to see y’all) I know this USAmerican will travel to see it. Hell, I’m even frantically brainstorming UK travel plans!
Jeanne Dielman? The New York City financier?
These are songs about the Corn Belt and some of the people in it... or on it. Come see Robert Ashley's classic television opera Perfect Lives on 1/16/2026 at @whammyanalog.bsky.social, presented by T.A.P.E. Analog. Doors at 7:30, screening at 8:00. Long live the avant-garde!
I spent 50$ on this beta band ticket and all I got were no friends who would join me when the tickets went down to 6$

I’m the guy they hired to write all the archival Arthur Russell material. They actually ran out of Arthur Russell songs in 2011 and ever since it’s been me. I’m sorry you had to find out this way.
los angeles residents near and far: come watch Terror Toons at @whammyanalog.bsky.social on 9/14, when I'll be moderating a Q&A with the great Joe Castro after the movie - a movie which truly benefits from sharing the proverbial couch with 30-40 strangers. see you there!
I would much prefer they know me as the person who wrote them to learn more about the Sharits Frozen Film Frame they have on display if they know me at all - y’know, as a tourist deeply interested in & passionate about what they do rather than a part of their promo arm for screenings I can’t go to!
People keep enthusiastically telling me that NYC theaters are quoting my Letterboxd reviews in their Instagram promo material like I’m supposed to care or be happy about it. I’m not a clout chaser and I’m not from NYC, I don’t care that Anthology Film Archives knows who I am as a poster.

Yo Del a buddy of mine (not Clint Howard, I don’t know him) just caught Deltron in Vancouver and said yall killed it. Love to hear it! Break a leg on the rest of the tour!
Bought a copy of Whistlejacket, the late period John Hawkes novel inspired by The Draughtsman’s Contract, which will probably not be as good as it sounds because how could it be
Louis the dog is at the beach
@ everyone Louis is at the beach
Come watch me play quiet music for walking by and shopping for books to at Sideshow, the best bookstore in the world, tonight!
It’s cool that ITAOTS is good enough that they let Jeff get away with all the Anne Frank weirdness. If he’d written a third Two Headed Boy he’d have probably been able to commit a murder or two.

I’m losing my edge. I’m losing my edge. The boys are coming back to the town.
I need a 16mm projector specifically so I can find out if the one reel I have from John Boorman’s Hell in the Pacific is the one where Lee Marvin pisses on Toshiro Mifune
In honor of Brian Wilson someone should write a really good song called Steven Page about being arrested for cocaine possession at an airport as a metaphor for the singer’s emotional landscape.
what the hell why not i'm gonna put the song that sounds like steve roden right before the fake guided by voices song on the record
Real
Went to an “Arthur Russell Day” event a friend was playing at. Saw my friend & then immediately left when the next act was noisy performance art where a dude kept hitting a floor tom with ears of corn (I guess cus AR was midwestern & wrote about corn?). Felt like the shitty Graham Lambkin show I saw
