Holy Haymakers!
I’ve had the same editor since 1967. Many times he has said to me over the years or asked me, Why would you use a semicolon instead of a colon? And many times over the years I have said to him things like: I will never speak to you again. Forever. Goodbye. That is it. Thank you very much. And I leave. Then I read the piece and I think of his suggestions. I send him a telegram that says, OK, so you’re right. So what? Don’t ever mention this to me again. If you do, I will never speak to you again
Maya Angelou on the joys of being edited
The way profit maxxing corpo culture has invaded every form of art through algorithms pushing people into daily posting is really weighing on me lately. Efficiency and regularity of making "content" being prized above all else feels so grim, man.

"Like Taco Bell does with food, platforms like TikTok and Twitter are incentivized to strip context from language, because then it can be flattened into a saleable product that can be co-opted by corporations."
A small wooden coffin with a wooden corpse inside
Carved from wood, this 16th-century figure shows a corpse inside a coffin. The body is decaying and worms are spilling from the stomach. The coffin is a memento mori, an object that reminds the viewer of the shortness of human life & the inevitability of death.
Fine illustrations of ghoulies, freaks, goblins, rats, wraiths, skeletons, bats, snakes, swamp witches and other gory creatures colored in greens, oranges and purples.

FANTASTIC FOUR - FAMILY TIES!
Another body horror cornerbox piece for fun and giggles.
Alexander Stephens was a small man of slight build. He wore many layers of coats, scarves and shawls to the conference that he took off upon arrival. Lincoln later commented about the scene, “never have I seem so small a nubbin come out of so much husk.”
No historical analogy is a perfect match to current events, and that obviously applies here.
For example: no one expects the Iranians to call JD Vance "so small a nubbin."
I don't remember seeing an image of Earth before that captures the (thin, fragile, tiny layer of) atmosphere so clearly. I mean, look at that.
If you want revenge, then dig two graves. the first one is a practice grave to get a feel for it and the second is your main or "show grave"
Love this pic of John Waters with his parents (who he had a great relationship with)

People on here rightly are pissed by the way Democratic politicians post as if they are witnesses to what's happening instead of ACTORS in what's happening. It's absolutely pathetic and weak.
