32 goals scored with two matches remaining. It looks good for the OVER managers ... especially with Burnley likely to score a bucket-load tonight! #Season25

Thanks Joe, hope you are keeping well.

Following last night's 0-0 draw, our OVER/UNDER competition is on a knife-edge. 29 goals scored in 10 matches. What will it be at the end of GW33 (13 matches)? #Season25 #FPL
Proud to see our BSc Government and Political Science Year 3 students - Aoife Lynch and Robyn Murphy - excelling at the New York State Senate Model Legislative Session last Friday in Albany. What an opportunity! #CK122 ๐ฎ๐ช ๐บ๐ฒ @ucc.ie @joh2024.bsky.social @jfcryan.bsky.social
Issue 905 of OFF THE WOODWORK is out, with Erling Haaland on the cover ๐ญ. We assess Arne Slot's future and discuss the historic appointment of Marie-Louise Eta. Plus, a 2006 interview with @aodhquinlivan.bsky.social, Hugo Ekitikรฉ, Jack Charlton, Arsenal's recent losses and OVER/UNDER. #Season25
Remembering Philip Monahan who died 43 years ago today. He served as City Commissioner and then City Manager in Cork from 1924 to 1959. He was noted for being flexible in method, but constant in principle - suaviter in modo, fortiter in re.

More success for Diarmuid Collins! As the winner of the 'Czech, Mate' competition, he received:

* Official Juventus FC scarf.
Congratulations ๐. #Season25 #FPL
Great to see our BSc Government and Political Science students thrive on work placement in New York State Assembly & Senate. Two students, Robyn & Aoife, met Mayor Zohran Momdani on St. Patrick's Day. If interested in our degree (CK122) e-mail Government@ucc.ie ๐ฎ๐ช ๐บ๐ฒ. @ucc.ie @joh2024.bsky.social
#OnThisDay in 2006 I was at Highbury to see Arsenal beat West Brom. It was one of Arsenal's last matches in the famous old stadium and the day was dedicated to Denis Bergkamp. Fittingly, the Dutch legend curled in a trademark goal to secure a 3-1 win. #COYG
It wasn't our day at Turner's Cross ๐ฅฒ but well done to the Lakewood Athletic lads for making it all the way to the JAKOvIreland Munster Youth Final. They fought bravely to the end and gave everything that they had. Congratulations to Leeside, the deserving winners.
Issue 904 of OFF THE WOODWORK is out with Bournemouth's Alex Scott on the cover. We recall Frank Worthington & Tommy Smith, praise the resilience of Harry Maguire & remember the Cork City FC 2017 double. Also, the 2026 World Cup, comparisons with '76, left footers, Kroupi & Keane.
Impossible to disagree with a single word that Ben Rhodes (Obama era NSC official) is saying here:

Issue 903 of OFF THE WOODWORK is out, with Roberto De Zerbi on the cover. We assess the challenges he faces on pages 3 and 4. We recall our previous Managers of the Season and Alan Ahern provides a blast from the past. Also, James Tarkowski, Sweden, Virgil van Dijk and Roy Hodgson. #Season25
From a paper delivered in March 1991 by the great Tom Barrington to the ESRI Statistical Society Symposium. Would the commentary be any different in 2026?
#OnThisDay in 2019 the Government published 'Detailed Policy Proposals' in advance of the DEM plebiscites in Cork city, Waterford and Limerick. Despite the title, details were sadly lacking and there was much vagueness. We are seeing the result of that now in Limerick.
Issue 902 of OFF THE WOODWORK is out, with monthly champion, Diarmuid Collins, on the cover. We assess the Golden Boot race, summarise the season to date and discuss Mo Salah's Liverpool exit. Also, Czech Mate, Bill Shankly and traffic cones. Enjoy! #Season25 #FPL
#OnThisDay in 2019, talking to a Joint Oireachtas Committee about restoring Town Councils. What will the current Local Democracy Taskforce recommend? Is the report imminent?

My opinion piece in today's Examiner about the Limerick Mayoral model. What are the issues? Cautious legislation, a failure to build relationships and the weakness of Irish local government. @joh2024.bsky.social @ucc.ie
