Plant season! Don’t forget to buy and plant natives… the moths, butterflies, and entire ecosystem will thank you. 🐛

In case you were asleep and missed it, here’s an entire thread of moth photos from last night’s mothing session. Probably saw 25-40 species in one night.

I just want to say @anisota.net's thread explorer is awesome. I really love the design of it and I enjoy looking at it so much more than the bsky one.

Yes!! Having some issues on the common names for some reason. The iNaturalist API seems to not return common names pretty often… need to debug that or determine if it’s just not existing data on their end.

I was actually literally thinking this just the other day! We’ll do some fine-tuning and see if we can get those numbers up lol

btw, you can open any bluesky link/post in @anisota.net quickly by replacing “bsky” with “anisota” in the URL

“bsky.app” —> “anisota.app”

So, what did everyone get up to during the Great Bluesky Outage of 2026?

2 days ago 24 3 4 5

You can switch AppViews in Anisota quite easily which would allow you to continue posting during a Bluesky outage, but we’re not even gonna recommend that you do that because it’s literally a perfect time to do literally anything else.

The Bluesky outage is a feature, not a bug. Enjoy the time offline.

Planting flowers and a forest walk - The Good Work I've been thinking so much about OpenWeb, OpenProtocols, and decentralized federated platforms like Mastodon and Bluesky lately that my brain has become moderately decentralized itself. 🙃 But more on ...

Anyone looking for a breath of fresh air in the Atmosphere should try @anisota.net by @dame.is and @hypha.coop's spores.garden. It's a wonderful calming experience.

Everyone else, of course, too. 🌿

it’s via the “?” key, so shift plus / i think, also can customize shortcuts under the settings page! need to make this easier to find and also enhance it more for power users, would love any feedback on how to make it better!

@anisota.net I just gave this a try today & I gotta say, it was one of the most pleasant online social experiences I've had in a long time. I was delighted & laughed out loud when I ran out of energy. ❤️ the minigame, the chronicle, all of it! Good job & please keep it up!

Everyone, go try Anisota!!

anisota is of of the most interesting things in the atmosphere to me rn. not because i think it'll be the big breakout app (it's almost allergic to that), but because it gives the blueprint for the kind of hyper-specific, bespoke, artistic, or contextual apps that are only possible in the atmosphere

A great frustration and joy of @anisota.net is the stamina that you use up while scrolling. When it’s gone, you have to wait for it to regenerate. It enforces breaks that stop then dopamine cycling and yet is not enraging. The “slowness” of the app is what makes it so valuable to me right now.
