@pvh.ca discussing "AI is a versioning / collaboration problem" at #localfirstconf definitely resonates with the approach we took^^. Next step is to retain attribution of accepted suggestions (i.e.: Edited by Alice with AI) in version history. Looking fwd to the talk tomorrow!
Really excited about this - definitely more complex than expected (especially when dealing with advanced formatting) and spent a lot of time fine-tuning the UX. Check out the docs @ www.blocknotejs.org/docs/ai
Excited to share the first version of BlockNote AI! Connect any model, customize prompts, and interact with AI just like you would with a human teammate. The user stays in control — accepting, rejecting, or refining suggestions.

After 4 years of work, I'm incredibly excited to introduce LiveStore, the next-gen data layer I'm building for Overtone.
It's based on reactive SQLite and has a built-in sync engine. Give it a try - would love your feedback!

Hey @parismarx.com Docs' PM here!
Thanks your post 😀
We're organizing a big hackathon in Paris the 2,3 and 4th of June to build on top of Docs.
We'd love to see as many european hackers coming!
Can you share it as well ? (hope you like the visuals ^^).

Amazing, congrats!! 🎉
It should be easy to add Notion-like collaborative text editing.
This is why we've just released first-party support for BlockNote, enabling:
• Fully-hosted collaborative block-based editing
• Real-time comments and notifications
• Offline support, multiple editors, and more
Awesome collab (😜) with @liveblocks.io. Make your www.blocknotejs.org editor collaborative with just a few lines of code!
Stacked versioning 🤔
Let's make sure to accelerate this by investing in open source so the entire world benefits. Anyway, great job @mariekekoekkoek.voltnederland.org @jessesixdijkstra.bsky.social @barbarakathmann.bsky.social 🙌
"Dutch parliament calls for end to dependence on US software companies": www.reuters.com/world/europe.... It's been an honor to work with 🇩🇪 and 🇫🇷 on this, but even better to see digital autonomy taken seriously in my home country.

Comments will be added soon ,👍
This is absurdly great, but I haven't read a single news article about it. A fully open source, offline-first alternative to Notion that's a collab between the French and German governments because they want to host docs securely and on their own terms. THIS is what Europe should be doing.
Thanks for sharing Ben! Cool to know; the Docs team has been sponsoring downstream open source technologies. An important part of Docs is the www.blocknotejs.org editor I'm working on - and it's been great and fulfilling to work together with the 🇫🇷 and 🇩🇪 teams on this.
🚀 #1 on Hacker News! 🚀 The open source and collaborative document editor we're building with the French and German governments just hit the top of HN. Proud to be part of this with BlockNote (www.blocknotejs.org)!
After shipping on his first day, stay tuned for the first major feature (some crazy Table improvements!) to be shipped later this week!
Excited to share @nickthesick.com is now working on BlockNote (www.blocknotejs.org) with us as lead engineer! Feels great to get a team together around our open source product, and Nick brings a lot of experience working on rich text editors 💖
Excited to announce that I'm leaving Tiptap, I will be joining BlockNote at the beginning of the month.
It's been less than a year, but I'm in a good place to take some risk and try starting up a company.
Given that I'm leaving, I thought it'd fun to share the things I built while at Tiptap. So 🧵
On our way to @fosdem.bsky.social. Will be giving a talk on how we're collaborating @ BlockNotejs.org with EU governments to build a sovereign digital workplace: fosdem.org/2025/schedul.... Who else is going?
Y-Sweet now has offline support! Read about it and the other changes in the newly-released Y-Sweet 0.7.0.

Think gov tech is boring? Working on Open Source solutions for Digital Autonomy for your own country is pretty exciting 🙌 Back from Berlin where the CIOs of 🇫🇷 🇩🇪 🇳🇱 decided to keep working together on tech sovereignty through open source software. Exciting to be a small part of this with BlockNote!
Collaborative rich text editing is one of the most popular use cases for Yjs.
Today, we're releasing our BlockNote Y-Sweet demo, which get's the job done in just a few short lines of code! https://buff.ly/4g41ggn
