The restaurant lobby is outpacing Proponent witness slips 2-1 to get this bill passed. Restaurants want to continue to exploit their employees by paying them less than the state's minimum wage. We can't let that happen.

This bill, HB 4263, would end minimum wage home rule, effectively preventing the ability of Chicago (or any state municipality) to end tipped minimum wages on its own.

Now, the sponsors of a state bill that would target Chicago's One Fair Wage ordinance are looking to make a move sometime today or tomorrow in the Assembly's Labor and Commerce Committee.

Comrades, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson vetoed today a Chicago ordinance that would've halted the city's efforts to end tipped minimum wages and bring all employees under the same minimum wage.
