Michael Marshall Smith, Michael Marshall, M M Smith, Michael Rutger - he might have a whole shopping list of names, but the writing remains the same: bloody amazing π

DAYUM! I was hoping you, queen of darkest horror, would say it was easy-peasy.
*uneasily puts back on shelf and picks up cosy fantasy* π
So, those in the know who have read Stephen King's IT - how scary is it? Best to read during the broad daylight? Is it body horror or psychological? I am a big old scaredy cat about most things!
And lest we forget...
Happy birthday, sir!

Hola Womble. Taking a break from SFF with The Light Years by Elizabeth Jane Howard. It's slow and delicious, examining the minutiae of life in a sprawling family during the '20s. While not much happens, Howard can do more to create a character in a paragraph than other writers do in pages.

1. I could buy a tape/cd/vhs/DVD and know I could use it whenever, wherever forever. I OWNED my media.
2. My walkman/boombox/vhs/dvd player never had a tier system where I had to pay to skip built in ads.
3. Ai wasn't built into my old tech. I could turn clippy off and never deal with him again.
I wouldn't feed this slop to my dogs.
Solidarity menopause fistbump. Tonight my anxiety is telling me I'm having a heart attack, which ramps up my anxiety, and makes me feel more like I'm having a heart attack.
Game of Thrones has *so many* issues, but...
