Intervals* mot In Verses lol
Posts by Alex Battaglia
Just realised I wrote In Verses instead of Intervals. Tells you how excited I am for Karnivool. And yes they Ruled. Incredible guitar work
Aaron Marshall of In Verses (opening act of the Karnivool Show I am at) got a blood thirsty rejoice from the audience when he said roughly:
"Happy to see so many people come out to a metal show to hear real music in a world full of non-sense AI shit"
I liked the series Last in Like 2005
I guess buying Activision-Blizzard to put Call of Duty on Gamepass only works if:
1. COD releases have quality to them and are not on decline (Last 2 years have been duds)
2. Everyone *alive* buys Gamepass?
All for naught!
This article is weird. France isn't switching to Linux because Windows is bad - it's switching because Microsoft is a US company, US companies fall under US law, and thus simply cannot be trusted with EU data. Windows can't "solve" this. There's no "fix" here.

A playable DEMO is coming - tied to something bigger.

I saw it last night and am VERY intrigued!
EU: The European Union will require sale of mobile phones with “user-replaceable and longer-lasting batteries” starting in 2027.
The regulation demands “availability of spare parts and manuals for 10 years to curb planned obsolescence”.
You've got to admit, they did a cracking job patching him up after that incident in opening the Ark of the Covenant.
PC gaming Wiki has a Launch Parameter to Change this issue
"-Deependblack" I think

Would it hurt to get maybe the year and game right in the title?
Hey so thanks for the link and comment! Just for clarity, although I talk about mushiness of controllers, my big issue from them personally is that they are not 1:1 pointer devices. With a mouse, it is a direct connection to the 2D screen pointer. With a controller, it is impulses to move.
As using only single colour merged materials from the RTGI pass would be more obviously problematic with much more metallic surfaces in the metro. Basically, their indirect lighting has different priorities due to the new environment. Also curious If we see path tracing on PC :)
🇺🇦Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇦
If I were to guess, I presume they need the RTGI to be more reactive than it was in Exodus. The radiance cache there was slower to react. Fine for a slow moving sun with big terrain, but more problematic in a small dense environment in the Metro. I also Imagine they need better specular (2/3)...
Very proud of how 4a revealed their game - true to the reality of a Ukranian team and the story from a Russian dissident. Tech-wise this one is going to be super interesting given Metro Exodus' usage of RTGI/RT Reflections. They mention retooling and optimising the implementation... (1/3)
Metro 2039 has surfaced - and we're very excited by it. Here are our thoughts: www.digitalfoundry.net/news/2026/04...
My friend Nakamura RTS and I have a podcast called the RTS Masterminds. Here's our latest episode, about upcoming indie RTS DORF (that just finished its kickstarter campaign) - we're also on Spotify. I'll link that below.
Quite proud of this project.

I've seen @dachsjaeger.bsky.social and others lament why PC isn't a focus for certain franchises, and I think the Rockstar leak does a good job of summing up why:
Mods don't sell microtransactions www.gamesradar.com/games/grand-...
This is the most comprehensive tell-all @nightdivestudios.bsky.social story and I'm truly honored that @davidlcraddock.bsky.social and @shacknews.bsky.social wanted to tell it.
If you ever wondered how this whole thing got started, this is your answer.
Man this is cool. Shadow of the Horned Rat and Mark of Chaos were formative experiences for me. And Epic 40k: Final Liberation has some of the best bad FMV cutscenes ever committed to VHS. It's been tough to find these in playable form.
And now thanks to multiple participants a pretty much fully featured SDL3 port to DOS!

I am a big series fan and am very keen to see where they take it now that it will be outside of the original locations. Tech-wise on PC too I know we are in for a wild ride given 4a's history.
Current rumours point toward a reveal of 4a Games' next title in the Metro series at the upcoming Sony State of Play. Their last release was the then, next-gen only Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition in early 2021. This rumour of the 4th Game reveal follows leaks of a shelved Metro project from 2022...
