I am currently making a version of Herjolfsnes 63 ☺️

Herjolfsnes dresses, which all appear as brown because of the soil conditions. All of them are burial finds of the same settlement

I think this is the perfect time to start posting about Greenland and the amazing textile Herjolfsnes finds, aye? Greenland is a district of Denmark and was settled by several distinct Inuit cultures in waves from c.2500 BCE to c.1200 CE, plus the Norse settlement late 10th-15th centuries. 🧵1/

Today was all about working with a Finnish Iron Age dress. I am trying to rescue Perniö dress which someone else has started years ago. Mervi was teaching patiently.

I have posted less and less in Fb during past years. I went to Threads but I didn’t like it much. I already like this so let’s see!
