The Seattle Storm enter a new era starting this Sunday as training camp begins for the 2026 #WNBA season. I wrote about the six most important questions I have about the team before the season gets underway. stormchaserswnba.substack.com/p/6-question...

Didn’t get to post this here.
I asked Angel Reese about staying grounding between so much change in Chicago until landing here in Atlanta.
Reese got visibly emotional when answering.
Here’s video of that moment which I think is worth watching.
Dorchester’s Taina Mair represents the very best of Boston. Congratulations Taina on being a first round WNBA pick by the Seattle Storm! ⛈️💚

This was my thinking the day before the draft. I'm shocked and oh so happy that it's happening. It is fun to think about, isn't it? #WNBA #seattlestorm #WNBAdraft
It's not my preferred scenario, but imagine having Jordy, Ezi, Fam and Dom flying around the floor running from rim to rim. Imagine Dom and Fam as jumbo ball handlers. Jordy could go back to her high school point guard roots. It would be a little nuts, but fun to think about.
They're so much fun but plan to wear earplugs. The screaming is very loud and very high-pitched.
Confirmed with the WNBA that the deadline to trade draft picks was Sunday at 5pm eastern.
That means for the Valkyries and Storm to make their trade, they would have needed an agreement to trade whoever was selected. Seattle then told GSV to take Johnson, who they were surprised was available.
A draft night SHOCKER:
The Seattle Storm have acquired the draft rights to Flau'jae Johnson from the Golden State Valkyries.
In exchange, Golden State acquires the draft rights to Marta Suárez and a 2028 second-round pick
She was exceptional in the tournament
Your hopes are dashed....
Imagine
Skylar will love her energy and fearlessness
This is so exciting. Dom and Awa get to grow up together. They are both so charming and confident and oh so talented.
Wow! It will be nuts, but fabulous. @wnbastormchasers.bsky.social
The #WNBA Draft is today at 4:00 PM. The Seattle Storm have picks 3, 14, 16, and 39. I wrote about the players the Storm should zero in on during those first three selections. Read about them at the link below! stormchaserswnba.substack.com/p/making-the...
I just signed up. I've been a fan of yours since your Seattle days. Now that you have Gabby and we don't (Storm season ticket holder here), I have extra motivation to follow the Valks (darn it). Actually, I think it's a great fit for Gabby, so I'm a little sad for us but happy for her.
Friends, I am thrilled to introduce you to Valkyries Beat.
This is where I will be writing about the Golden State Valkyries this season, running a full beat and -- with your help as subscribers -- back on the road.

When was the last time we hit the day of the WNBA draft and still really weren't sure who was going #1? Maybe it was still a little up in the air in 2019? I love this level of uncertainty that we almost never have. Credit to Curt Miller and co for not letting anything out (assuming they know). #WNBA
Source confirms to me and @herhoopstats.com that cored unrestricted free agent Ezi Magbegor re-signed with the Seattle Storm for three-years, protected, $1,250,000/1,250,000/1,250,000.
Flat rather than with raises, but by a fraction the biggest WNBA contract total officially signed so far. #WNBA
Beautiful. I'm so happy for Ezi and for all of us Storm fans. She is such a fantastic player and such a sweet, kind person.
For those of us who watched the entire 2025 season, I agree that we definitely had the talent. We had 4 2025 All-Stars, plus Ezi, former All-Star. We saw them at their peak. We saw that they were a rebound away from eliminating the Aces from the playoffs. We had a very good team which underachieved
When was the last time there wasn't a clear number 1 pick?
It's not my preferred scenario, but imagine having Jordy, Ezi, Fam and Dom flying around the floor running from rim to rim. Imagine Dom and Fam as jumbo ball handlers. Jordy could go back to her high school point guard roots. It would be a little nuts, but fun to think about.
And we have @itsmeghanlhall.bsky.social, @sheknowssports.bsky.social, @maggiehendricks.bsky.social, and so many others who have put in the work and I'd hate to see their efforts get usurped by opportunistic men's leaguers.
I'll say this for @anniecostabile.bsky.social, @alexaphilippou.bsky.social, and @classicjpow.bsky.social. They were in the trenches during the CBA stuff. They camped out. They kept watch. They updated when they could and I'll always appreciate that.
Speaking of journalist/reporter/news people to follow, Marisa won my Jane Arden Award last year for her coverage of the expansion season Valkyries. Give her a Follow if you ain't already. #WNBA
On the one hand, Trump lost his war in Iran. On the other hand, he has propagandists who say the contrary.
