I mean, anybody that disagrees with me surely needs to be killed.

DO NOT WANT!
Cuz why not go full-on traitor-rapist?
Democrats should know by now that aligning with Zionism is a sure fire way to lose an election.
Harris went down in flames over that one issue.
Why? Because genocide is absolutely intolerable. No candidate that fails to speak out against Israel is getting my vote. No chance.
Put all the Nazis in jail forever.
It’s way past time that we all made this switch.
Aww. I miss that river so much and so often! I love Oregons rivers. Lower Umpqua has my heart as well.
Yes!
I’ve been engaged with this topic for 30 years but have only felt unseen or actively avoided in the last 5.
Yes, people need to feel seen to feel effective.
A supposition that this commitment doesn’t already exist is telling.
Bsky made me sad af today.
It’s funny that I was like, ‘men are victims too please don’t leave us out’ and the response was stfu.
But that’s not actually a solution. Confronting violent men isn’t a peaceful plan.
Lowering violence comes from economic and social equity.
Capitalism is once again the problem.
Not really. Sorry the stat wasn’t what you wanted.
I guess 77% of homicides victims being male isn’t a big deal.
That 13% discrepancy on an off-hand reply though! Bro…
Yes, I always have a weapon available. Keys between fingers is low-prep af, but I have done that.
Yes, I have been verbally and subsequently physically assaulted by men.
Yes, I dress in non-provocative ways almost all the time.
I avoid dangerous places, I park under lights, etc.
I didn’t make up any stats. I just posted the first line from a random google search.
These stats indicate exactly the same thing I was saying: males are extremely common victims of violence.
Maybe that’s how we all wish it could feel? But it doesn’t.
I want to focus on not using language that completely negates the perspective of half of the victims.
No. I’m saying that people wishing to lessen violence from men often discount crimes committed against men and often fail to see men as victims or allies.
This misunderstanding extends to viewing innocent men as responsible for the actions of a few, when we are still the most likely victims.
I’m not a numbers person, it was a quick ass google search.
Those numbers still clearly indicate that men should at least 3 times more afraid of being killed than women.
Get fixated if you want, but my point here is that men are victims and allies.
We see violence lessen with education, social and economic equity.
Once again, capitalism is the problem.
Scarcity for the working class always increases violence by considerable amounts.
Yes, that’s undisputed. Physical violence is perpetrated almost solely by males. Not just in humans either, this is part of earth.
But asking other victims to “do better” or to create confrontations and “call out violent language” doesn’t represent any sort of solution. Those are just more fights.
I just asked google. But you’re right that other crimes are inordinately aimed at women. Overall, both sexes suffer nearly equally from violent crimes, with the FBI reporting ~580k against males and ~530k against females in 2024.
Systemic changes will overcome violence, not shaming other victims.
That’s a fair perspective. But it can certainly make peaceful men feel totally unseen.
I truly hope we do start holding abusive people more accountable. Current events make it seem like the most abusive people get away with anything. Accountability seems far off, but must be possible.
Recent conversations have me wondering:
Why are we bad at holding guilty parties responsible?
Every crime I have seen committed first-hand (against myself or others) has gone unpunished. Some were rather heinous.
Assaults, rapes, thefts. All of which were laughed off by police as “unenforceable.”
I even got the “boys will be boys” line.
I hate violence and I believe that women deserve to be safe from harm. The quote posted above is negatively directed at one sex only.
I was totally victim blamed when I got the shit beat out of me at 14.
Proof that feelings aren’t evidence.
90% of homicides in the US target a male victim.
But, the victimization of some is more valuable than for others. People truly don’t care that men murder and brutalize each other.
Quote like this indicate many women still don’t even seem to know it happens.
Do you think men just strut around carelessly? Assured of their safety, since men never hurt each other?
90% of homicides in the US target a male victim.
I wonder what control you think we have? Punishment and divestment from known assailants is the only avenue I can think of. I’m not Batman.
You’re right. All the women in the Trump administration are shining examples of altruism.
It’s not about gender. It’s about greed, control, avarice. It’s about selfishness and disdain for others.
Unfortunately, these traits are shared by both sexes. These men are evil. Sadly so are these women.
