The #Java community is better because of all you do with the Atlanta #JUG and @devnexus.bsky.social (the longest continuously running Java event)! Thx for always supporting me!
Enjoy your cake day!
#Terps4Life!
And thank you!
Itโs been a few days since I was impacted by the #Oracle layoff. I wanted to acknowledge the #Java DevRel team thatโs still there, as well as other folks/companies continuing to also engage with the Java community. Please give it a read:

Well said. Of course, I had to use a language translation tool but I'm glad I did.
.@ondromih.bsky.social while I appreciate the support, it's not fair to call out the Java DevRel team. They have worked just as diligently as me to ensure the Java community is prioritized. I would put my trust in them...I do.

So sorry to read this! And so unexpected! Best wishes!
No. Thank you.
I truly didnโt expect such an outpouring of empathy, support, and appreciation because of the #OracleLayoff that impacted me. Thank you! Interesting to see that the Hindustan Times made mention that Iโm #OpenToWork because of this situation:

So sad for you, hope you find something nice soon. Let me know if I can help in any way.
What? They're cutting the heart out of the Java community?
All the best in finding a new job!
:(
I am so sorry. That sucks. All the best and see you hopefully soon again. Your name is attached so deeply to Java and community, there must be another opening in the Java universe for you.
I have no words other thanโฆ
Thank you, my friend.
Thank you for all your contributions to the #Java community, Shar. You have been shepherding it for a quarter century and, if you're up for it, I hope you get to keep doing just that for years to come.
As a German, I don't use the word "friend" lightly, but you are just that - my friend. ๐ซ

Personally, spite energizes me and I won't let the asshats up top crush my passion for Java. In fact, I'm happy to be speaking at a number of JUGs in the next weeks:
* Apr 1st: Boulder
* 2nd: Denver
* 7th: Kansas
* 8th: Dallas
* 9th: Austin
Looking forward to catching up with you all!

What happened yesterday at Oracle is a disgrace. None of these people deserved to get fired and even less so in the soulless way it was done. I'm sure nobody in Java's leadership wanted this to happen and that they fought tooth and nail to minimize the impact.
And yet, here we are...

Great opportunity: a community maker is available !
The day afterโฆ
Too kind of you to say
Iโm so sorry to hear this. I have either been part of or observing the Java community for more than 25 years. Iโve never met a Java advocate as inspiring as you. Hope everything gets sorted quickly. Best wishes.
This makes no sense to me, it canโt be true, yet it is. :-(
I'm sorry to hear that, and I wish you luck finding something new. Java is the language I first learned as a child, and I'm sure your work affected many people.
