5⭐️. I love a Dracula retelling. This one did NOT disappoint. Charlotte Cross gives a voice to Dracula's women through letters and diary entries. The atmosphere is pure gothic dread. The sapphic romance at the center absolutely wrecked me. Heartbreaking, haunting, and impossible to put down.

Anderson in Bloom had all the ingredients I wanted sapphic second-chance romance and enemies-to-lovers tension. That said, the pacing drags in the middle and the miscommunication gets a little exhausting. A solid read if you love the tropes. It's a perfectly fine cozy afternoon book. 3⭐️
A haunting debut that uses Jewish folklore to explore what violence truly costs a community across generations. Sher's "Odessa" follows a grief-stricken father who uses Kabbalistic magic to resurrect his daughter after a pogrom and the horror that follows is as much human as supernatural. 4/5 ⭐
