I haven't done any mending lately but I did try drawing my parents' dog as a single-line piece (my first) for my mom's birthday!

After said gifts, I lifted weights. Snapped this pic of my outfit for a friend. Went and gave my niece and nephew their Hanukkah present a little early so we could play with it together. Watched TV with my parents.

Today I was okay.

Today, my parents gifted me a few things that were healing for my broken heart. Some strawberry shortcake socks for my inner child. A flannel I don't have to borrow from my ex. A new perfume not chosen for his enjoyment. Little steps in the journey to getting back to myself.

I love that in the new season of Queer Eye, the time between Antoni being like "I'm going through a breakup" and a lengthy shirtless shot of him was practically zero

Team was like "Let's get the thirst reactivated for this man" as if it ever left

Started working on my overalls last night -- this is just decorative, but I am using a sashiko stick & stitch pattern from wrenbirdarts.com! Might have to go get a little more of this color floss...

For these last two, I switched to embroidery floss, and I like how they turned out. I had to add a tiny patch on the one pocket, so I tried to eyeball the pattern and turn it into a little wheat guy 🌾

Then I tried a really simple line pattern in a similar color on this pair of trousers. I liked the look.

These were the next few on the same pair of 501s. The owner prefers the raw edges, so I leave 'em. I played around with the pocket reattachment/reinforcement, but he picked the little pink frankenstitch pattern.

Learning visible mending thread okay go:

This is the first one I ever did. I had to put the patch on top bc there was no way to get it past the seam inside the pocket, but it has held up pretty well. I used denim thread, but now I use embroidery floss.

I like the texture that leaving a bit of frayed edge gives but some people tuck 'em under and press 'em

I had to undo and redo that patch and do a different approach and the jeans turned out like this:
