I love when you say something about your working livestock guardian dogs and someone compares them to their nonworking, under 15lb, house dogs. LOL we are not having the same experiences. She is a cute fluff though...when she isn't fending off bears.

One thing about looking for a farmsitter is you have to ask them detailed questions about how much they know animals. For example, with goats you have to top their food everyday. They arent like dogs. They dont finsh their food and then you feed them again. We just came home to angry goats. πŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

Hahhaha. I survived but will not be doing that again! 54 is too old for that! Also our poor housesitter is having his trial run in the middle of thunderstorms. πŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

Trying out a new farm sitter. He is doing great already. We're in an airport hotel acting like unsupervised children. I'm gonna regret Taco Bell and cocktails

I'll catch a little trout here and there. I still have sushi grade tuna from last year. And cross my fingers, Im going salmon fishing in the Fall.

In a couple of weeks we harvest the goats. And then we are done. Enough meat for years. And then we will only really need to plant the gardens.

Holy moly. 22 meals for two and 3 meals for four. Also a collar for grilling and enough extra for 2 seafood stews or a fish pie and a bit for pate or whitefish salad.

I'm sensing a theme here. I also only take one medication so the others just have random stuff like benadryl in them πŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

Whats important is that im feeling more grounded and rooted in my new community than ever before. And i feel closer to my husband than i ever have. Even more importantly, im willing to say im not okay and ask for help caring this emotional load.
