Wow, I've never seen level 2.5 in real life!

Teletext is still huge in Italy, but our public broadcaster decided, many years ago, that they would stick to level 1.5.

I think the reason was that some receivers had some broken 2.5 features, so they didn't want to risk it.

I've switched to @linuxmint.com on my desktop and now I wonder if I should do the same with my Intel Mac ๐Ÿ˜

macOS tries to "protect" you all the time, when in fact it's just a way to keep you inside of Apple's walled garden.

And don't even get me started on the new Liquid (Gl)ass style.

Good luck with your first app review. Don't get disappointed if your app gets rejected at first!

Sorry, I'm a game show fanatic, couldn't resist :)

I think the 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' example is a bit skewed, because contestants generally use that lifeline in the early, easiest questions.

Also, no Google access for the 'phone-a-friend' lifeline anymore, at least in the UK version :)

Damn, time is running out.

I've always felt that this happens when a company buys another company, and they're forced to keep the local brand name everybody knows already.

I also use UptimeRobot and it's a bit sad that their uptime service depends on an external single point of failure.

Cloudflare is down again, bringing down half of the internet.

It's scary how many services depend on one single point of failure.

This hits hard.

Yeah, I don't know why it disappeared. They used to advertise it. I'm afraid it's going to be discontinued โ€“ but as of now it still looks maintained.

I like using AI embedded in my IDE, it's an advanced form of autocompletion/refactor tool.

I think the Laravel team is trying to make it easy for AI models to pick up how they should behave when they write Laravel code.

But I don't think it's a good idea to "vibe code" a full app from scratch.

Laravel Spark is an official (paid) package based on Cashier+Paddle. You can use it as it is, as a complete billing portal, or study its source code to see how the Laravel team implemented it!

Xcode when I open it.

100% agree. I almost feel "proud" for being a customer when I log into an account and I see that my current subscription has "Legacy" in its name.

I agree! I miss following him on that other platform which can't be named.

I think the restriction comes from the fact that CNAME can be the only record for a domain. Since the 2nd level domain also has other records (SOA, NS...), you can't use CNAME there.

Actually, there are differences. You can't set a CNAME record for your naked domain, but you can for "www". There are also security differences, such as that you can't restrict cookies for the naked domain, but you can do it for subdomains.

I think the real problem is using so many trackers that you need a consent banner.

You never forget your first few customers.

And the ones that stay with you for many years?

They canโ€™t know what their $49/mo meant to you.

Everyone who bet on you early, in any form, holds a special place in your heart.

Call me old-fashioned, but I use the currently maintained fork of Homestead.

I miss old-school GNOME. I've stopped using it after version 3 came out, I can't stand it now.
