What I really loved about the whole Y2K thing is that we thought computers cared what year it was. To the computer 1900 and 2000, it doesn't make any difference. The only systems where it might have mattered would have been like GPS satellites, which have to keep very precise time to work.

An origami crane folded out of a bar napkin, it's interesting that the bar napkin is very white and the surround looks basically black, especially since because the surround is actually the light gray of my bed sheets. So it's weird that it comes out that dark in a picture.

My bar napkin origami crane. I make a lot of these with napkins but I also do a lot of them with paper, I'm hoping that once I do a thousand I'll get my wish. That's the promise, fold a thousand. Get your wish. It's not even crazy like I want to be a billionaire or anything, I just want to feel okay

Excuse me. Willing to learn. When you are incapable of actually listening to anything I have to say. And the only opinion you believe is correct is your own. No, that's not unwilling to learn. That's simply that I'm not willing to learn you're incorrect "facts."

It doesn't work that way. For one thing humans are incapable of photosynthesis. For another, lots of foods can be bad including ones you think are healthy. The thing is if you quit eating everything they said was not necessarily healthy, there would be nothing left.

To believe that any food is bad is ridiculous. Do you know what tomatoes, eggplants, potatoes all have in common? They're part of the nightshade family, they have NMDA in them which is a known carcinogen. So are you going to stop eating that stuff? Are you just going to photosynthesize?

I'll listen to almost any doctor before I listen to someone on the internet. I'll even listen to my mother who doesn't like me, before I listen to somebody's opinion on the internet. These are opinions on the internet. I have medical advice telling me what I ought to eat and what I can't.

These people are bigger drunks than I am and I am a drunk or more of a functional alcoholic but regardless, apparently they had to get breaching equipment from SWAT to get into Kash Patel's office after he passed the fuck out. He's drinking at work, WTF? I would have gotten fired.

Which is why we're eliminating people's ability to purchase what they want using SNAP, fuck forgive that someone on snap might buy a soda or a candy bar ๐Ÿ™„

There are no bad foods. The only time food is bad is when you consume it to excess. That goes for whether it's healthy or unhealthy, it doesn't matter. I mean you'd have to eat pounds of lettuce to consume too much of it, but a strip of bacon or two isn't too much if you don't eat it everyday.

There is nothing wrong with eating bacon in moderation or eating dairy. Whoever told you that is lying to you, sounds like health influencers. My mother has a dual bachelor's in nutrition and food science. She would never tell me anything crazy like that. And she's a narcissist who doesn't like me.

I literally developed anorexia because of how restricted I was in what I could eat. And I would get nuts about it. And then the whole thing started to make me nuts. I can actually eat more now than I could when I was a kid. Even though they misdiagnosed me. Some of my doctors definitely helped.

1 day ago 0 0 0 0

They actually did help significantly, I would probably be dead if it were not for their help doing elimination diets and stuff like that when I was young. There was a point where I could barely eat anything at all. Boiled potatoes, that was all I could eat.

I personally have been sick since I was a child. A lot of that has been GI stuff. So I know what I can digest, I know what I can't, I know it's not necessarily the traditionally accepted stuff, but I also know what I need to eat to get the right nutrients because of how many doctors I've seen.

Hey, just because we don't agree about something doesn't mean we can't engage, I think disagreement so long as it's polite can be healthy. I don't come here to agree with everyone. I know my body because it's sick. But not everyone's is. Most people's bodies are okay, at least mostly.

Actually over 20 "individual doctors" and a collective trying to treat a population, is never going to be as good as a doctor who personally treats you. I know what I need because I have been personally treated. If I went off guidelines, I'd probably be dead.

Thank you, and I don't mean to be argumentative, it's just that I have been so criticized over my diet regardless of what my diet has been over the years that I probably take it a little more personally than a lot of people. That's not your fault. That's a lot of other people's fault, lol.

Only if your body is capable of digesting those things, plant foods don't provide protein and the necessary amino acids in a format my body can digest. I literally eat a special diet and have for close to 40 years.

Just eating cholesterol. Doesn't give you high cholesterol. Eating a lot of it might. But if you eat cholesterol containing foods in moderation, you're good.

1 day ago 0 0 1 0

Sorry, but I trust my GI specialist more than I trust your link. It doesn't matter the amount of cholesterol that's in it. It matters how much you eat of it. Everything can be healthy in moderation, nothing should be eaten exclusively. Also, there's nothing inherently bad about eating cholesterol.

A zero fat diet would kill you, pretty much as fast as a full fat diet would kill you.

1 day ago 0 0 1 0

I mean they have a lot of healthy things in them and unless you're eating a whole lot of them, they're not really cholesterol bombs. Also the body does need some fats and if you aren't getting that stuff from other places you legitimately need it from somewhere.

It's so frustrating, and if I ever try to go to a restaurant I just want to cry. It's gotten so ridiculous. I don't want to make food all the time, but at the same time if I don't make all my own food it's not nutritious in a way that my body can accept nutrition.

I have to admit that I really like eggs they're a good full protein source that has some fat and not too many calories. Eggs are like nature's miracle food. Despite that, throughout my entire life they have said eggs are bad, eggs are good, eggs are bad, no, they're actually good, never mind, lol.

Thanks, I'll check it out, I've been seeing a gastroenterologist since I was like 6-7 years old and I'm 44, so I usually know most of what's covered in this stuff but sometimes I learn new things. It's difficult to have a GI tract that no matter what you do to help it, just doesn't work very well.

Everything about my gastrointestinal tract is extremely damaged. And when you hear somebody say that and they're saying no meat Mondays... It's not enough to help the problem, I feel like when I say it as someone who can't digest anything, it should carry even more weight.

I wish legumes weren't a problem but they are. I just have a really damaged gastrointestinal tract because they didn't recognize that I had celiacs for like 30 years. Instead they had diagnosed me with ulcerative colitis then kept wondering why the medicine didn't work. So I can't digest things well

Yeah, I don't object to celebrating athletics, I object to the fact that we don't celebrate the science accomplishments even half as much.

Damn straight. The man is a narcissist. He literally can't think of anyone else. My mother has narcissistic personality disorder, she's less malignant, but she can't think of anyone else, she can't put herself in anyone else's shoes. She has no empathy. She can't do anything wrong, according to her.

Also, I love his brother, he's not the smartest guy on earth but he is super sweet. Like he's the nicest one of my boyfriend siblings. I've been going out with my boyfriend for 17 years, so I have watched this kid go from being in middle school to being an adult, he's a nice guy. So no animosity.
