I heard Gordon Brown speak last night. He spoke for over an hour without notes with pure conviction, vision and overwhelming passion for ending child poverty here and around the world. Not to be cheesy but it is inspiring stuff to hear people speak like this.

Is it NIMBY to agree with this? The loss of public spaces isn't reversing any time soon and cash strapped councils probably wouldn't do this if they had healthy balance sheets.

I had my 1:1 with my director outside in the sun and we found a nice quiet park in Marylebone. Turns out it was private and we got locked in. Spent 15 mins trying to find someone who could let us out again.

No, they are different numbers. The core 20 targets those in deprivation which is made up of social determinants of health. So it seems odd she'd mention the first stat as if the NHS can't do anything when she's overseen a programme targeting patients living in the bottom 20% of deprivation.

I feel like the extension of that comment is "in recognition of these social determinants of health, the NHS launched the CORE20Plus which focuses on patients on the 20% most deprived in England to improve their health outcomes". She references elsewhere an example of NHS managing housing as well.

Odd that stat made the interview but no mention of Core20Plus5 as I'm sure she would have mentioned it as well
