My take on the discriminatory chants used in the game tonight.
#AllForCity
Can I use this image for a post?
@taylortwellman.bsky.social Why did you keep complimenting the atmosphere at Snapdragon when they continually repeated homophobic chants? Does MLS have a gag order on announcers to not acknowledge that for plausible deniability?
The announcers ignored it every time. Easier for MLS to pretend it didn’t happen.
I’m so fucking pissed about this. This was tolerated way too many times during the match. #AllForCity
Never change Simon Becher. Never Change. #AllForCITY
This is pretty incredible even though we’re only one game in. Looking forward to more!
And here’s a total fluff piece I wrote about the upcoming @stlcitysc.com season since I’m way too excited about some more soccer adjacent things.

Here’s some quick reactions to our Home Opener draw versus Colorado Rapids written for @cityscreport.bsky.social on @stlcitysc.com

Pre game light show was incredible!
I am really hoping “This place is as charged as a battery!” doesn’t become a constant thing for Energizer Park, because that was super cringey. 😬 🪫 #AllForCity
Our First XI of 2025 🗞️

Handpies cut in half to reveal a buffalo chicken filling, and red glazed cake doughnuts with blue and lemon drizzled stripes.
And in second and first place, Damn Fine Handpies.
2. Second place is their City Celebration Cake Donut, which is a beautiful donut decorated in CITY colors with raspberry, lemon, and blueberry glazes.
And number 1? Buffalo chicken handpie. Incredible. Could eat this all day.
A blonde woman and a bearded man wearing baseball caps behind a blue table with the yellow letters “chicken scratch”. They are serving chicken nuggets and chicken sliders.
4 + 3: Chicken Scratch Chicken Nuggets and Slider tie: I love crispy fried chicken. The thicker the breading the better. This hits the spot and the horseradish honey mustard is vastly superior to the scratch sauce.
Two bowls with food in them. The one on the left have pozole with crème fraiche and the one on the right has half a pork panini.
6. Bolyard’s Pozole: you can’t go wrong with hominy and pork shoulder with a dab of crème fraiche.
5: Pappy’s Burnt Ends: The best burnt ends I’ve had in St. Louis so far.
Pictured: Bolyard’s pozole and pork panini.
8. Bolyard’s Pork Panini: it sounded super good as a riff on a Cuban with apple mustard! It was tasty, but not something I would probably order.
7. Pappy’s Ribs: I’m going to get St. Louis hate for this for sure. This is my 1st time having their ribs and I prefer Adam’s Smokehouse.
Now for the food reviews at the @stlcitysc.com food partner reveal event!
Prefacing this by saying -everything- was good, I had nothing bad. Going in order from good to incredible, “I could stuff my face with this all day” food.
Matt Sebek: Saucy Porka and Amighetti’s rotated out, but will probably rotate back in even maybe in different roles throughout the season.
Matt Sebek: Top ten food vendors from the Park last year were all local foods. 60% of sales happen before kickoff which is incredible - people are coming in for the food before the games. Local restaurants in stadium are great for the community because people discover the new local favorites.
Gerard Craft: fans have said food is one of the best parts of the matchday experience. Announced Bolyard’s, Pappy’s, Damn Fine Handpies, and Chicken Scratch. Damn Fine Handpies had the loudest applause from the audience! Adds to the diversity of our flavor options at Energizer Park.
Over 20 local restaurants in Energizer Park. Top two by fan votes are Balkan Treat Box and Steve’s Hot Dogs.
Matt Sebek, Chief Experience Officer, thanks us for braving the weather to come out with Gerard Craft. They visited many venues when planning the match day experience. The visits to Disney World and Apple were experiences they want to emulate with 5 sense immersion, including taste and smell.
Interesting tidbit from the media email: “In addition to the new local restaurants, CITY SC is also introducing new dedicated, under $10 food stands, which will serve family-friendly matchday menu items at affordable prices.”
Email just went out saying the vendors will be Pappy’s Smokehouse, Damn Fine Hand Pies, Bolyard’s and Chicken Scratch. I am so jazzed to see Damn Fine Handpies on the list.
A city red screen reading “CITY Flavor” behind a bar. There is a table in front with two men standing at it, and a blonde woman in front of the bar.
I am at the @stlcitysc.com new food partners reveal for the upcoming season! I’m incredibly excited to be here - the variety of local food at the stadium is one of my favorite things about games.

I found out the way they clear this pitch! It’s a combination of snow plows and five miles of heating implement under the turf.
