A common mistake in #RAG is going through the whole chunking and embedding process when text-to-SQL is the far better approach. Use the right tool for the job! #AI

Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need Python to build #RAG #AI systems. I’ve recently deployed 4 different systems using NodeJS and the Google #Genkit framework as the back-end.
There are a lot of folks overstating how effective it is. It’s a great tool for existing developers, but someone isn’t jumping into a dev career with Cursor and no other real experience.
It’s an optional add-on for Cline or Roo Code that allows context to persist between prompts. (I’m also not using Cursor)
When I’m making prototypes I typically skip the unit tests, but this is something Claude 3.7 Sonnet is really good at, esp if your memory bank is up to date. With one prompt and less than $1 of API credit, I had Jest running and handing out green checks. #ai #jestjs #claude #roocode @anthropic.com
Ok I’m experiencing this now with the beta “Studio voice” mode. Now using noise and echo removal toggled on. You’re right, overall it’s just not as good.
I’m new to @playbalatro.com — man that difficulty spike is wild after ante 11…the next round (which I lost) wanted 7M! Still loving the break from the Spire. #balatro #roguelike #deckbuilder #slaythespire
I upgraded but didn’t notice any quality loss (I use the noise and echo reduction on the mic input). What are you running into?
What are you documenting with? I’ve been mapping data pipelines with Figma, curious if there’s something more specialized.
For when you want your whole house/office to know that you’re typing.
I am totally awful at BG3 but imho the freedom is a refreshing change from the on-rails experience of JRPGs. That said, I’m still excited about Metaphor which I just started.
Baldur’s Gate 3 deserves stronger consideration even if only due to being a VERY different experience than any SquareEnix or Atlus RPG (which make up almost all of the other suggestions here).
They are FAR too quiet (even compared to other acoustic instruments) and often try to make up for it with heavier gauge strings which in turn affect playability (hence the pickup not entirely solving it). I’d rather use a headphone adapter with one of my electric basses.
Unless for very specific tonal purpose, most people regret getting an acoustic bass, even if it has an electric pickup.
Are you a fan of VGM cover bands?

One of these days I’m going to drop new sets on Mixcloud.
Yes, just replace the small screen connected by a ribbon cable. The casing isn’t really “sealed” as much as just snapped together.
If you’re powering up your Ledger Nano S for the first time in a while and see a dim screen, just know it’s a <$20 easy fix. Just in case though, make sure you have your recovery phrase. #crypto #hardwarewallet #infosec #ledgernano
I use MacOS and Windows for different things. I think it’s funny when someone says their $3k MacBook Pro dunks on an old $500 Windows laptop instead of something with price parity. (Tesla owners do this too) #macos #windows #tesla
Street Fighter 6 has one of the video game stories of all time.
There has to be a compromise somewhere that isn’t blindfold-easy. Just wrapping up NG+ on hard mode in P5R and it’s basically a speedrun.
It’s just as bad when you see a key-value system in a relational db (i.e. Wordpress). There is not an appropriate way to index that in Postgres. Use the right tool for the job.
When I was a kid, I didn’t know the difference between bass guitar and kick drum and thought both sounds came from the same instrument.
The data pipelines to finops would prioritize data integrity over all else, so the methods would be traditional tried and true RDBMS. If you wanted to get insights from it, you'd mine it into a data mart, and it wouldn't be different from data science and analytics. 🧐
With inexpensive pay-as-you-go rates without any upfront onboarding cost, what is the ROI risk? I have many sizeable clients whose daily/weekly analytics run about $100-500/mo in BigQuery fees, and one of the biggest who spends ~$1B in media internationally has an overall ~$1500/mo BQ bill.
It seemed like voodoo before I tried it, but it turns out if you go slow (at most a quarter turn at a time) and retune and measure each time, it is really safe and hard to mess up.
I went from Traktor to Serato last year. It’s definitely not perfect, but at least it’s stable and the sound quality of the real-time stem mixing seems to currently be best in class.
As a 30-year guitarist/bassist, I’m embarrassed to admit this is the first time I’ve properly adjusted my own “setup” to fine tune intonation, truss relief, action, and pickup height. Great way to spend an afternoon with noticeable tone and playability results. #jazzbass #trussrod
