We condemn the arbitrary detention of Ali al-Hajee. Summoned 28.02, on 1 March, authorities ordered he be detained 7 days at Dry Dock Prison for interrogation. #Bahrain detained him for social media posts about human rights violations & his advocacy of the rights of recently released persons.

The 2011 #uprising in #Bahrain was a missed opportunity by the Khalifa authorities to create a new narrative of inclusive governance in the interest of all Bahrainis. Bah. is a state party to Art 25 of the ICCPR but fails to adhere to it. Never too late to change.
