It perfectly complements my art style as it’s feathers look a bit like fur. They have feathers on their head that look like a hairstyle, quite funny 😄

Watercolour painting of a male and a female 'Painted bunting'. The male bird very colourful, the female mainly in greenish-yellow colours.
Yesterday I saw a picture of a Painted Bunting (Passerina ciris) and knew I had to draw it. They are really pretty.
I also had a good laugh when I realised they are called "Papstfink" in German, which translates back to "pope finch". Fitting for a member of the cardinal birdfamily 😄

I don’t have the cat problem, but to avoid any human errors I recommend using a glass that doesn’t look like a drinking glass (for e.g. a marmelade or honey jar) and a bottle for drinking.

This bird is too big in every direction to fit it properly in my sketchbook 😄 Either the beak doesn’t fit or the feet. So I just painted the head and upper body.
