6/6 In words of Irfan, one of our Senior Immigration Advisers: “I am pleased to confirm that she has been granted Settled Status bringing an end to a 5-year period of uncertainty. This exemplifies how careful case preparation, persistence & a trauma-informed approach can make a real difference.” 👏🙏
5/6 “I would like to thank Irfan who supported my EUSS application after several refusals. After 5 years I finally obtained my Settled Status thanks to Irfan’s help. He is my guardian angel. A very big thank you to him & to the entire Settled team. Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
4/6 Since she contacted us, we supported her with a carefully prepared late application for Settled Status, addressing her vulnerability, previous refusals, evidential gaps, and the relevant Withdrawal Agreement and Home Office guidance. Following the decision, she wrote to us the following:
3/6 She was also given incorrect advice by another advice agency to apply for a Skilled Worker visa and, following that advice, instructed a professional adviser to submit a Skilled Worker application. Unfortunately, that application was also refused resulting in further financial loss and distress.
2/6 Our client is a #Portuguese national who had faced several refusals under the #EUSS over a number of years, largely due to difficulties evidencing her residence during periods affected by domestic abuse, the COVID-19 pandemic, and childcare responsibilities.
1/6 Opening thread on a wonderful story regarding a fantastic positive outcome from one of our #EUSettlementScheme clients in #Scotland who had been desperately struggling for years without the right support and which highlights the impact of our work with vulnerable people.

3/3 As Jenny Rathbone MS, said: “This is not a distant technical issue buried in the complexities of immigration law. It is a human story – about families, workers, and communities who have contributed to Wales for decades, yet remain vulnerable...” nation.cymru/opinion/sett...
2/3 The consequences of not obtaining Settled or Pre-Settled status are dire – losing rights to work, housing, benefits, education and even removal. Settled will continue to work alongside the Senedd, the Welsh government and our partners to ensure that no EU citizen is left behind.
1/3 Settled welcomes this timely and very well researched report by the Equality and Social Justice Committee, Welsh Parliament, highlighting some of the big issues that are affecting - and will continue to affect - EU citizens in Wales (and across the UK): settled.org.uk/settled-but-...
