Congrats to @jborean.bsky.social for receiving the #PSHSummit26 Jeffrey Snover Innovation Award. As last year's winner I was proud to present it and it sure is nice that it happened to be for the person I voted for.

And THAT is how you kick off #PSHSummit 2026. 🔥

The Welcome Reception tonight was exactly what it needed to be — good people, good energy, and finally putting faces to names.

This community never disappoints. Night one ✅

The real fun starts tomorrow. 👀

PowerShell MSI package deprecation and preview updates - PowerShell Team This post announces the deprecation of MSI packaging beginning with PowerShell 7.7.

PowerShell is deprecating its MSI installer in favor of MSIX, despite current known limitations that prevent PSRemoting scenarios, or execution from system services, like the Task Scheduler. PowerShell 7.7 will *not* ship an MSI: devblogs.microsoft.com/powershell/p...

Dev Drive REFS gets most of its benefits from shallow copies for things like node modules or dotnet restores . Unless it's a local runner I wouldn't expect much benefit.

If god forbid you ever end up in a situation where you need to delete tens of millions of blobs in Azure Blob storage, like even AzCopy couldn't handle it, try AzBlobDeleteFast! DANGEROUS!

My case was a massive veeam repo where we couldn't just delete the container.

Their self checkout trucks are great. Always new, several near me, perfect for weekend projects. WAY cheaper than owning a truck the handful of times I need one a year.

I really appreciate the team's commitment to this. These are never fun, especially when you'd rather be moving forward, but is important for the trust of the community.

Yet another reason I love pnpm, it doesn't run postinstall unless you whitelist it. This is a bad one.

Also at the moment I was announced as the winner, I was too busy shitposting with @gaelcolas.bsky.social to @jaapjaap.bsky.social and didn't realize they called my name, so I'm sure I looked super ungrateful but I wanted to make clear that was the opposite, I'm enjoying the community at the time :)
