I rewatched The Ballad Of Wallis Island again today (made me cry again) and nobody is going to persuade me that McGwyer Mortimer aren’t a fictional Slow Club
At the very least Key and Badsen must be big Slow Club fans
CMAT - The Jamie Oliver Petrol Station
Lauren Auder - Yes
Divorce - All My Freaks
Jeffrey Lewis - Sometimes Life Just Hits You
Wednesday - Elderberry Wine
I've just seen Trump's reaction to the murder of Rob Reiner and, although I shouldn't be surprised, the man is a grade-A piece of shit. I realise even typing this even stops me from going to the US again, but hey ho.

So sorry to hear this Robin
I am not enjoying The Football this season 🙄 #LFC
I’m afraid I’m actually 18, Spotify says so, I don’t make the rules
Irish pop queen @cmatbaby.bsky.social with a storming 1 hr 45m set at Sheffield’s Octagon tonight
Poster for The Running Man, Edgar Wright’s new film. Simply a close up of star Glenn Powell’s face with The Running Man in white typeface at the bottom
The Running Man was the mystery screening at The Light tonight! It’s usually a low budget indie film so it was a big surprise. I really enjoyed it, just a very fun, stylish action thriller with a big dose of satire. Edgar Wright is very good at this filmmaking lark
A Captcha image of Emma Stone with the phrase “select any squares that may contain Aliens” nodding to her role in the film Bugonia (where she may or may not play an alien)
The Easter egg on Letterboxd when you review Bugonia is amazing
It was @selfesteem.music-social.com’s homecoming gig last night and it was a triumph. Not a fan of arena gigs but this was pretty special
the promotional image for Sally Wainwright's Riot Women, featuring five female actors holding various instruments on a red background. Riot Women is wiritten 'graffitti-style' in white.
Watched the first episode of Sally Wainwright's Riot Women last night and it's absolutely outstanding. Rosalie Craig (who I've seen in many stage productions over the years) absolutely burns the screen in every scene she's in (and what an introductory scene).
Excellent Off The Shelf event with Nigel Planer tonight, I got to ask a question and even met the man himself
"The Nine Inch Nails", "Got a light?", the nuclear explosion scene, that ending, everything about it is perfect and is Lynch's finest moment in a career that was full of them
Going to watch episode 7 and, more importantly, EPISODE 8 (aka the Best Episode of TV EVER) of Twin Peaks The Return at the cinema tonight and I'm very excited about it.
Excellent gig from Gene tonight at Network, Sheffield
An evening at Float Along Festival, including Westside Cowboy, Jane Weaver and Anthony Szmierek
Just watched ep3 of Twin Peaks The Return at the cinema and still find it absolutely delightful that Showtime gave David Lynch a load of money and told him to make the absolutely weirdest shit he could think of.
Really sorry to hear this Dan
Yes there are genuinely stuffed cats in Paddy’s vets
Took my mum and sister on the Emmerdale Village tour today and it was honestly a very lovely day out.
An excellent evening at the Empire Magazine podcast live show, with special guests Tim Key and Tom Badsen (watch The Ballad Of Wallis Island, my film of the year). Thanks @chrishewitt.bsky.social, @jamescdyer.bsky.social and @helenlohara.bsky.social!
Just arrived in London! See you later
Poster for Honey Don’t, a film by Ethan Coen. The poster shows actress Margaret Qualley in white shirt and brown trousers, turning around to face the camera, with a gun in her hand. Aubrey Plaza and Chris Evans (not that one) are also featured as is a blue car on a white background Don’t bother seeing the film, it is shite.
May have watched the worst film of 2025 this afternoon. What a stinker
Hope it went well Dave, and you and the family are coping ok. Lovely article in the YEP - the name of the bar is genius!
In fact the whole album is superb. That’s 3 definite ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ albums in a row for me now.
In Tenerife on holiday at the moment and I’ve had the @cmatbaby.bsky.social album on repeat and Lord Let That Tesla Crash is an absolutely incredible song
Yes, @laurenlaverne.bsky.social playing Prefab Sprouts Lions In My Own Garden! I don’t think I’ve ever heard this on the radio!
