The NFL draft is almost here, so it's a great time for a Seahawks pre-draft mailbag. Send me your questions about the draft, the Seahawks offseason so far, or whatever random topic is on your mind. I'll answer tomorrow on Seahawks.com.

John Schneider on the Seahawks possibly trading back from 32: “It’s no secret with us, we have four picks. We’ll be looking to trade back.”
It's draft week, so we decided to have VP of player acquisition Matt Berry & director of college scouting Aaron Hineline join us for a special draft preview version of the Seahawks Insiders podcast. Be sure to listen to the end where they tell you who the pick is at 32... maybe: shwks.com/d69jo6x7
Also from the NFL annual meeting, Mike Macdonald gave a couple of injury updates on Monday: shwks.com/rdnop4ev
Yes, the Seahawks won the Super Bowl last month, but the way Mike Macdonald see it, they don't head into 2026 as the defending champs. "That's not a thing. We're not defending anything." shwks.com/iidmktnn
Correction. After reviewing the audio, Mike said, "That's still on the table?" Funny moment either way.
Macdonald when asked if the older vets are all planning on returning (in other words not retiring): "Nothing has changed there." Asked about Demarcus Lawrence specifically: "To my knowledge he’s coming back. He always has the right to change his mind, but as of right now he’s coming back.”
Sean McVay just interrupted Mike Macdonald’s media availability and playfully yelled, “what do you think about the 2-point play?” Macdonald replied, “that’s not on the table.”
Mike Macdonald said Tory Horton probably won’t be 100 percent this spring but should be ready for the start of training camp. No firm update on Zach Charbonnet but said the expectation is he’s back at some point during the season.
Three years ago, John Schneider and the Seahawks had a stressful wait before drafting Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Signing the All-Pro receiver, "a foundational piece," to an extension, however, was a easy, stress-free decision:

Jaxon Smith-Njigba and the Seahawks made it official on Wednesday: JSN is gonna be a Seahawk for a long time.
"It's an honor, it's a blessing. I feel like I was definitely drafted to Seattle for a reason, it's become home." shwks.com/gcbk3cf4
Jaxon Smith-Njigba on what’s still out there for him to shoot for after accomplishing so much in the last year: “the only thing better than one Super Bowl is two.”
Big day for JSN and the Seahawks.
“I love this organization… I didn’t want to go anywhere else.”
Jake Bobo re-signed with the Seahawks on Tuesday and explained why it means so much to be staying in Seattle.

In an expected move, the Seahawks exercised the fifth-year options on both of their 2023 first-round picks, Devon Witherspoon and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. They're now locked up through 2027, but goal will be to get long-term deals done: shwks.com/fugbjqau
Much appreciated
This week’s Seahawks mailbag is here. Give it a read, because if you don’t, well, that was a waste of my time then, wasn’t it?
