Weird how we never hear things like "AUKUS is growing too fast for Australians to afford" or "negative gearing is growing too fast" or anything similar, huh

Jewish man among first charged in pro-Palestinian slogan crackdown that reminds some of 1970s Queensland Stephen Heydt says he spoke in a custom-made T-shirt and was ‘charged with two offences: one for the shirt, one for the chanting’

Good article. The police presence on the weekend was absolutely ridiculous and bullying, definitely not contributing to "Social Cohesion".

I can't quite believe (a) how quickly so many people started outsourcing their decision-making and critical thinking to machines owned by psychopathic oligarchs, and (b) how quickly that made everyone really, really dumb.

The RBA’s policy deliberately creates unemployment. So why do we treat the jobless so badly? The way we deal with rising inflation is highly problematic.

Yup

Trump repeats he is 'not happy with Australia' as Hormuz crisis continues Donald Trump again accuses Australia of refusing to help the US in the Strait of Hormuz, but the Australian government maintains there has been no formal request from the US.

Cancel AUKUS, scrap the submarines and remove U.S. troops from Darwin and Pine Gap. We’re pretty unhappy with America here too atm www.abc.net.au/news/2026-04...

A 25% tax on gas exports could end the gas shortages being engineered by the gas industry, cut energy bills and ensure there is enough gas for Australians.

@amyremeikis.bsky.social speaking a whole lot of truth on The Sunday Shot @theshot.net.au right now.
I hope all our politicians have the grace to feel shame that it wasn’t all the death & destruction, the genocide, siding with the US, but oil & petrol prices that are making them act.

An indulgence we can still afford to make - French Apple Cake - treats for those cooler months. Great warmed up with a dollop of Greek yoghurt served with spiced cinnamon tea.

Climate has almost disappeared from our conversation.

But it remains the most pressing challenge of our times.

Last week the WMO said the planet is “more out of balance than at any time in observed history.”

Energy security and climate security are not competing priorities.

‘Like battery hens’: ATO’s outsourced debt collectors face much worse conditions than those in public service, former staff say The tax office is one of the most prolific users of external labour, spending more than $316m in 2024-25. Critics say this has led to a ‘two-class system’

Using outsource workers in ATO office's has created a 2 class system in the public sector. Again ATO has outsourced core work & subjected those workers to worse pay & conditions. The ATO should be a model example of finance not the cautionary tale.

It's an affront to our collective intelligence and empathy that indie journalists need to run around proving various bombed schools and hospitals aren't harbouring "terrorists". You should instinctively know that's nonsense and that American and Israeli regimes are FUCKING EVIL
