I have not seen this particular article, but there has been an individual in national news here who is suing ChatGPT for a very similar situation. Given that companies use psychological knowledge to hook users, doesn’t surprise me at all.

Absolutely. I train psychologists, and if they don’t understand the thinking behind their work, it leads to all sorts of ethical and legal issues. Also, they are training AI to become psychologist, and I think we should all resist that.

Agreed, but when aiming to help students develop their thinking, I worry about it undermining that. Also, use for frivolous reasons requires immense amounts of energy that we should be aware of, amongst other issues.
