Worth noting how many organizations like SPLC neutered themselves and the work that they do, trying to avoid this very moment. Especially since Trump won again. But MAGA was always going to come for them. And eventually, we'll all be targets. No matter how much we tried to remain nonpartisan, etc.

Virginia Woolf, more than a hundred years ago:
And everyone that’s going to die because of what RFK Jr. is doing to health care.
Well, at least if Achilles comes back from the dead to wreak havoc, we know where his weak spot is…
"A man free of patriarchy is a man who has found not only every woman's humanity, but one who has at last discovered his own. The actual path to liberation for lonely men is feminism—because pursuing an identity based on dominating others is self-isolating."

Violation of religious liberty. All Christians should be fearful of this administration and the lengths they'll go to silence dissenters. www.thedailybeast.com/trump-yanks-millions-fro...
I miss Roger. He died at 70 and took so much wisdom with him. Meanwhile, the worst person this country has ever vomited up lives on, with no end in sight.
Context: The New York Times helped elect president Donald Trump, who then gave America HHS head RFK "Raccoon Penis" Jr., who, in turn, gave America its resurgence of Measles that killed this girl.
Now, the NYT sells outrage about her needless, tragic death.
Turns out the phrase “America First” is preceded by the words “Sell Out.”
Softdisk.
Every month, a new set of floppies would come in the mail, and it usually had a couple of fun games on it - games I played the hell out of.
So I’d bring that back - and make that huge catalog of games available, and make sure their creators got a nice-sized piece of the action.
Claire Willett @clairewillett.bsky.social She/Her that's where I'm at with it. 25+ years ago my dad was both a member of a Catholic organization with a Jerusalem cross logo, AND a cantor at a monthly Latin Mass, both of which were then primarily frequented by like grandmas. he would not do either of those things again. they are not for grandmas now 10:54 PM • Apr 20, 2026
This is basically what I’m saying. The meanings of things change over time and if you’re asking non-Christian people to trust you then you have to understand the broader implications of your choices.

The Jerusalem Cross is a symbol of the Crusades. Disingenuous people argue it’s “just a representation of Christianity and not bigoted”
But we all fucking know the Crusades was about massacring anyone that wasn’t Christian.
Pete Hegseth has a HUGE one tattooed on his chest
It’s a symbol of hate.
Hey folks, I've added Mouse: P.I. For Hire to my Steam curator page with a very enthusiastic thumbs up! I had been eagerly looking forward to this game, and it did not disappoint! I couldn't wait to give it my recommendation, because it's been a thorough delight so far and I can't wait to play more!
The Columbine massacre was on this date in 1999. Instead of energizing our country to get gun violence under control, it kicked off a new normal. One of the best explanations ever of journalism's destructive impact on mass shootings came from Roger Ebert in his review of Gus Van Sant’s “Elephant.”
🚨Tuesday is Election Day in Virginia — you can register the SAME day!

Wow, you can spit-take in real life.
"You lawyered bravely. You have kept your honor."
How does that Elton John song go?
"Sad songs say so much"
This is the point. Make universities uninhabitable for the people that make universities wonderful.
Texas Tech faculty are “close to the brink,” Schiller said. “It’s a nightmare … Tears are commonplace. I have a colleague who told me recently that going to campus felt like attending a wake.”

Businesses like Amazon are going to keep doing whatever they can get away with and that's why people should keep suing them and why there should be punitive damages | no paywall
If this man had murdered eight strangers the story would lead every news outlet. But because they are his children, it's "family violence," "domestic violence" -- undeserving of the same attention. Even though this violence is much more common

Just sobbed hardest I have since my mom died in 2020.
She missed these trials by a few months.
One of most ruthless cancers. Hard to fathom that maybe she'd still be here.
I feel such a hole inside.
In case you're wondering if we should fund mRNA research instead of another stupid war ... yes.
