A $1.8 billion mistake could cost the South Carolina treasurer his job South Carolina lawmakers are going to try to remove a statewide elected official from office, for the first time in over two centuries as a U.S. state.

.
This is amazing.

Unsurprising it hasn't made much noise, considering the shitshow in which we're all embroiled...

But for S. Carolina, it is historic & cataclysmic.

Their GOP are on the verge of removing their treasurer for gross incompetence; $1.8 BILLION's worth.

I took all my intro Bio courses & Math courses at UCSB in an auditorium that seats 1,000 & was typically quite full. It's not ideal...but I made it through to earn tenure... for what that is worth. I wish I had you as my professor.

This breaks my heart. My salary at St. Jude was paid through our comprehensive cancer center grant. My wife's oncologist is at a comprehensive cancer center. Millions of children and adults with cancer get treatment in these 57 centers around the country. These are essential locations for research.🧪

Trump's handling of Ukraine and tariffs has NATO rethinking the U.S.-made F-35 fighter The F-35 was meant as a one-size-fits-all fighter that could be used across NATO. But strained U.S.-Europe relations are giving some member countries second thoughts about the U.S.-built plane.
