Quick question for #GameDev

Do the games you make as a personal "portfolio" to find a job (for the first time) have to look good?

Mostly asking for programming and game design roles.

That is an excellent point, thank you for answering ๐Ÿ˜€ They told me it was mostly due to wanting to port the game to consoles in a more "streamlined" way. As I haven't ported anything with Godot (and w/anything really) I can't tell if it is easier or not.

Quick question for #GameDev ppl: I've been working with Godot for a few months (almost a year) and a person who wants help making a game (only has a concept and a GDD) asks if I can work with GMS2. Should I learn GMS2 or should I tell that person that I can help but if it's with Godot?

Quizzit! by JdR2V Quick quiz game, made to make you a bit smarter than you were yesterday!

I just released my first ever full game, this was not made for a game jam as usual. In all these years doing small projects, I finally took the time to make something and finish it! You can read a bit more about it on a post-mortem post in here: jdr2v.itch.io/random-quiz-... #gamedev #indiedev

Oh hey! I'm actually alive! What did I miss?

2023 was be the year where I played the least amount of videogames in my life (literally zero) and 2024 was a bit better, played five and finished two. I'm getting my passion for games back so let's look at 2025 as a turn around from the last two years!!

It's been a hard day, time to use an hour (maybe a couple) to look at the awesome Game Dev/Pixel Art/Indie Games tags here on BlueSky.

This was the last piece of art I uploaded to Twitter so I think it's a nice starting point for posting more and actually creating more #pixelart ๐Ÿ˜€

Well, this marks the 9th time I watched the Game Awards (missed last year because of reasons). Honestly, I'm pretty sure this was one of, if not THE best one so far. Okami sequel LET'S GOOOOO!!!

Watching the VGAs I just realized, the next couple of years are going to be HUGE for videogames. Can't wait to see how the amazing indie games community goes even further beyond!!

I'm at the point in #GameDev where I have the opportunity to start working on a new project and there are so many ideas in my head I can't decide which one I want to work on!!

How do you usually pick what your next project will be? Even if it doesn't end up being what you thought initially.
