I agree we threw away an incredible set of concessions with Brexit that will not be offered to us again. Any move to rejoin will need to be sold in very different terms to UK public - focussing on facts not fear but sadly that will be too dull and boring to elicit excitement

/4 Bit of a ramble and not sure where this is heading - but back to Brexit and I agree that we can’t just rejoin now, much as I and others want - there is a very long path back to EU membership but the first steps on that path must be recognition of who we are, how we got here and who we want to be

Personalities and their dog whistle soundbites - and that continues to be a feature of our politics today. I don’t begin to know how to overcome this, but at an individual level, holding your hands up and accepting a bad decision is surely the first step to progress - not more denial and shielding.
