There was so much ICE activity today. A group of agents spent the whole morning inside Jimmy’s Bar and then ended up driving erratically all throughout the Holland & Como neighborhoods, eventually trying to park at the 2nd precinct police station.

This is what happened in our neighborhood yesterday. ICE snatched a human being off of our streets, roughed them up badly, and then pepper sprayed legal observers as they documented it all. This is a daily occurrence happening all throughout Minnesota right now.

But something that is changing is my tolerance for people who try to make logical or rhetorical space for their cruelty or hatred. That’s something that really bothers me. I’m not talking about demanding anyone be a saint or a paragon of virtue or anything like that.

Turns out I have adhd and for me there’s this “justice sensitivity” component and, look: My wife is a patient woman and I’m very lucky that she likes me. I try to keep it in check but sometimes she has to tell me to stop lecturing. After I replace my monocle I try to calm the fuck down, yo.

Oh it is and they are. But most of the time they’re the normal kind of nice. I think. I mostly just wing it tbh.

Sure seems like ICE is gping into a violence spiral in MN. They act out, people monitor and protest, they get madder and more agitated, people monitor and protest more.

They‘re going to kill more people, administration’s going to congratulate and encourage more, they’re gonna kill MORE people.

I don’t know anything more except that another customer was apparently somehow able to whisk her away to safety.

The mother was distraught. This is inexcusable. They are terrorizing our communities here and it needs to fucking stop.

One of my kids was forthcoming with me today when they had an easy opportunity to avoid some consequences. The stakes were low and my kid really didn’t have much incentive to volunteer the info.
