Oh FFS, WHY him, PLEASE can the party get a proper vetting process in place!

I’m glad we’re doing really well across the board, but we need to better than this (ditto with the antisemitic ones).

And then you explain and describe those in such a way that makes them all seem almost obvious :)

Polls show that people really underestimate meat's wide-ranging environmental impact. So here are some charts I've made over the years that show just had bad meat is for the planet. Let's start with efficiency:

Next month is the centenary of the 1926 General Strike. In Oxford, railwaymen walked out alongside printing workers from Oxford University Press, while students tried to break the strike. Local trade unionists will mark the anniversary on three successive Saturdays. 🧵

The Clarion & I have both been talking about potholes in the last 24 hours. Great minds etc. See my clip for high level summary (heavier cars and climate change) and theirs for a lot more analytical detail.

Today the Prime Minister will assure Parliament that there was no window, or if there was a window it did not break, and if it broke it was not from a ball, and if there was a ball there was no kick.

He will add that he is "furious" about the window that broke from a ball that was kicked. (By him.)

This is simply not true. Labour didn’t have to go right. They *chose* to go right. The big majority was a chance to reset everything back to sanity. Starmer chose the mad, bigoted, ignorant and dishonest route instead.

On Tuesday, MPs will consider an amendment to enable local leaders to ban pavement parking in their area. We need you to help us get this amendment on to the Bill.

Ask your MP to agree to Amendment 265 when it's considered on Tuesday: https://bitly.livingstreets.org.uk/4tMU2Uq

Oh gosh, yes. Sorry, I see I didn't word my post very well. What I meant was - I totally agree with your point, but just to remind any casual reader that this is not to say that there isn't rising antisemitism (which I know you know is the case)

So it's a 'yes, and', rather than a 'no, but' 😁

Though of course the generalised rise in antisemitism is also happening.

“What this report ultimately demands, from the left and the right alike, is a discipline that both sides have conspicuously failed to practice: the discipline of treating antisemitism as a separate issue from the issues of Israel, Zionism and Palestinian rights.”

Arson attacks on Jewish targets may be linked to group re... Proxies for Iran or Hezbollah could be behind wave of fire bombings and foiled plots in London and across Europe

No idea of the accuracy of this but it sounds quite plausible. And if correct has nothing to do with a generalised ‘rise in antisemitism’ in society. observer.co.uk/news/nationa...

I expect we'll get a very different map this time. Though elections are still FPTP, so hard (for me at least :)) to predict how the massive change in voting will affect the seat allocation (in 2022 Greens got just under 1% of the seats though almost 12% of the votes 🙄)

The Israeli cabinet's jungle-rules philosophy is "only through force, territorial expansion, and intimidation we can get security".
Even where the benefits of an agreement are clear - e.g. Syria - Israel will do everything not to go down that route, in fear this sets a precedent for other fronts.
