Just fyi, the city of Knoxville votes blue. It’s Knox County that votes red. A Democrat has won Knoxville city’s last 4 mayoral elections. Also, Knoxville is the third largest city in Tennessee, not really a small town. It’s still pretty amazing that about 7,000 people showed up for this, though.
