One of my most played songs this year was Sparkbird by Sparkbird, cuz dang I really needed some whimsy in my life this year

A digital artpiece of a wingless dragon-like creature. The background is a dark, starry sky. The creature, Mars, is curled around a strange pod, Mars' relic, filled with a starry substance. Mars' jaws are open, revealing cyan teeth that seem to be gnawing on the relic. His incisors are flat, like a human's or a horse's, but his canines and all other teeth are sharp like a crocodile's. Starry fluid drips out of Mars' mouth. On Mars' body, at semi-regular intervals, are stripes of glowy, starry fluid with nebulas of cyan and magenta. He also has a crest of soft, thick spines. The fluid is dripping outwards as if Mars was spinning. Mars' eye stares directly at the viewer. Its sclera is a gradient of blue to magenta moving away from the iris. The iris itself is cyan fading to white towards its center, and the pupil is a black slit. A cheetah-like tear mark flows from the tearduct to right above his first canine. One of Mars' hands is wrapped around a corner of the relic - his claws are the same cyan as his teeth, and the palms of his hands are a paler blue than the dark blue of his body. The relic's colors are inverted, resulting in its starry fluid being pale yellow (rather than dark blue) with reddish orange and green nebulas and black stars. At its center is a pale yellow oval reminiscent of the eye of a cat or goat.

Sparkbird performing in Eugene! Before their song, they told us about previous audiences doing funny bird-related things in the audience while they performed. In response, someone made a big shadow puppet bird behind Sparkbird, framing them perfectly.
