A coffee from a cafe is already absurdly over priced. The idea that the tiny scoop of beans required to make it costs 25¢ more due to the fuel cost to transport it is even more absurd.
Charge me a 5% surcharge and never see me again.
How many journalists, for instance, are using Grammarly: a piece of software that ACTIVELY DEMANDS YOU INSERT FABRICATED QUOTES INTO YOUR ARTICLES
I really really do not think there is any awareness of how their entire industry is voluntarily being turned to sand, from the inside out
A new Knives Out movie?
Electricity prices are set to fall across Australia’s main grid, driven by wind, batteries and lower wholesale costs, Sophie Vorrath writes.
But global energy volatility still looms over what comes next.

Screenshot of an AI detector showing, with high certainty, that the Anthropic report was written by a human.
Is it just me or is it interesting that Anthropic's report on AI use in the workplace was written by a human, not by their own AI?

Coffee with latte art and a book about public sphere and democracy. Photo is in black and white.
The function of the public sphere is to ensure "the continued existence of the democratic political community" (p. 2).

Ryan McBeth did an investigation into that account, doing data journalism, and worked out who it was. Allegedly😅 @ryanmcbeth.bsky.social youtu.be/8zZeZFs5KLQ
What is a tankie? Who is a tankie? What is a better term than tankie?

Not now, fireball from outer space. You’ll want to wait for a slow news day.
Because they need some non-journalism content to mix in with journalism content?
Absolutely nuts. I fired up Google Gemini and asked it a bunch of questions about my own field — areas I know really well, that I write and publish in.
Literally the first paper that it told me about had a hallucinated author name
When 1st year students started casually saying, "I just ask chat" I basically did something like what you did, asked it about my own research area. Every now and then I do another test, though I know that by design LLMs can never ever be 100% accurate.
