They were not even protesters. They were just stuck there due to ICE blocking them. As the helpless car passengers watched, ICE, unprovoked, began firing gas canisters upon the cars.

I am vertically challenged, so you can't really see the whole area around the Monument. But, it was packed. Also, Wisconsin and Conneticutt Avenues had people on sidewalks from NW DC all the way down to Downtown. People were honking and waving. So uplifting!
