Beyond his strong research output and technical skills, Sungwon also demonstrated excellent collaborative skills and productivity, successfully delivering valuable software packages to our DoD partners.
Sungwon's work has been published in premier VIS/HCI/VR/AR venues such as @chi.acm.org, IEEE TVCG (presented @ieeevis.bsky.social), and ISMAR, with several additional papers currently under review. He is genuinely passionate about emerging technologies and human-centered design!
His PhD research centered on creating innovative data science workspaces within immersive environments. He developed a suite of impressive interactive systems in VR/AR tailored for data science workflows, encompassing data transformation, visualization, and analysis.

Our first Immersive Storytelling project! Led by our very own

Such an important piece of work! Text input in VR/AR has been the elephant in the room to a certain degree. Text input is an essential part for many modern workflows. We can either replacing text input with other alternatives (gestures, voices), all have some limitations. Or to improve it!
