Must Read Short Speculative Fiction: March 2026 - Reactor This month's stories focus on unstoppable disasters and satisfying revenge...

Surprised and pleased to see my little sapphic lady knights story featured in Reactor's Short Fiction Spotlight. Never expected to see my name sharing a list with Stephen Graham Jones! 💀

Should you be allowed to call yourself an airport hotel if you're 12 miles away from the airport?

Escape Pod 1040: Gods and Spirits Our Witnesses We met in a public-access data booth at night, during yet another tropical storm, long after the angry god of the sea had gorged himself fat on Earth’s old icecaps. Rain hammered the booth’s cracked…

Rejoice, sophonts! It's Thursday or Friday, and as such we bring you a fresh original for your experiential experience: "Gods and Spirits Our Witnesses" by @scmillsbooks.bsky.social. Go ahead, witness it!

Though it looks like the trilobites may have eaten the link preview image...

THANK YOU. I had to scroll way too far to see this. I'm realizing now that even this isn't enough. Toast, taco, quiche, and upside down toast are all topologically the same.

OK for fun: top funniest tweet ever? I am torn between "moon's haunted" and "Denise I was at your wedding."

DONE! With all the editing and related admin. Thank you to everyone who contributed and submitted. Eager to share the issue on (checks notes) April 1st!? Wew... really cut that one close. I'm grateful for the opportunity and I hope you all enjoy the stories.

(Moots, there WILL be a quiz.)

Could revolve around a submissions queue so crowded that some stories get pushed into the past and future (with apologies to Asimov)

I just got mine for the story I'm submitting tomorrow. Gotta love efficiency.

Took a long walk up the Lakeshore trail with @awkwardresearcher.bsky.social and found a bunch of cool art. Here's the ones I remembered to photograph.

As a writer of a near-future-sci-fi novel with a large, kooky cast, I'm also just happy there's a market for my kind of book (if I can get it to be as sharp as When We Were Real)

As a reader, I'm entertained and moved and all that good stuff.

As a writer, I'm learning so much about how to teach readers how to read your book, playing with the fourth wall without being obnoxious, and how to make a book funny but still serious.

When We Were Real by @darylwriterguy.bsky.social is absolutely unputdownable. It's 400ish pages and I blazed through it in 2 days (despite full-time job, work travel and editing gig.)

It's funny and tragic and bursting with ideas (and characters) and I can't recommend it enough.

Everyone definitely should check out more of @muteddragon.bsky.social's work! (and also the stories posted by Small Wonders (but also the infinite scroll of great stuff she's been putting out there))

Can you guess our most-published author? We'e published many folks 3 times, a couple of folks 4 times, and just one person 5 times during our nearly 4 year run....

Rewatching Contact in 2026 is a bizarre experience because you realize that Matthew McConaughey is basically just a podcast guy. A remake (god forbid) would have him hawking a NordVPN sub.
