I'm not a paleo artist so in many ways I feel weird drawing a woolly mammoth, but also it just means I can do whatever I want with my particular rendition
I'll be opening myself back up to freelance work (mostly in the editorial and publishing realm) soon as teaching is starting to wind down for the semester. I hope this wave of cool work and pay that matches it continues
I feel like in the last few years (decades to be honest... but I've just only worked professionally for one decade so I only know the last ten years) so many companies have decided that artists should be grateful for exposure and pennies. There is almost a resentment when it comes to hiring us
Every so often you get a freelance offer that is so reasonable with good pay that your brain sorta has to shut down and restart
(This has become so rare)
Thank you!
Hey artists, if you see this, post a dog
(Drawing long dogs until I can adopt a long dog)
Thank you so much☺️✨

Still hard at teaching, but updating a few older pieces for some markets this summer including these two swans!
If you aren't going to be at any markets this summer, no worries! You can buy them at my Inprnt and soon (though not yet) my Etsy, link in my bio 🦢
Also if you do buy from my Faire please leave a review, I have had a ton of sales, but only one review and I hope to change that so that my shop can be boosted a little

Because I still can't take on much new work due to teaching I just want to remind folks that I have a Faire and just updated sizing and prices! You are also free to contact me one on one through my email to do wholesale/consignment (that's how I do most stocking agreements)

Having a person in a cool outfit, compliment me on my outfit may be the glue holding me together at this point
Either it is a sign of a fiery end times or a cleansing balm, I am not sure
Like I’m not saying we should start hoarding basics, but if I see a penny-farthing out in the wild again I’ll sound the alarm
My recession indicator in that the baristas in my area are suspiciously starting to have old timey boxer mustaches and dressing like 1920s barkeeps and I haven’t seen that out and about since the last one
The burst for this one is coming and I often think about the dot com crash as a reference for this specific time. I was very little, but I vaguely remember the panic and have spent a lot of time learning about it. I wonder how long AI companies can prop each other up before it falls hard
If your idea of survival for your company is to pivot from like clothing or food to AI, yeah I’m gunna laugh
They all inflate potential and then implode because they simply don’t make money. They promise a lot, do wildly unethical things, and the cycle continues
The idea that every company in panic says it will be an AI aligned or focused company while not truly knowing what to do with it (because it is increasingly unwanted and unprofitable) would be comical if we haven’t seen multiple tech bubbles like this burst in the exact same way (it’s still comical)
A pale woman with light gray hair leaning back in a endless space of green, orange, yellow and pink foliage as a white bird hovers by her shoulder
Illustration of teal seagull flying amongst others of its own kind in peach clouds. On the back of the main seagull grow out pieces of Pacific Northwest like the space needle, a salmon, Mount Hood, a bike, and a fishing boat amongst other things
Illustration of a dark haired woman laying in a Arizona landscape. She is as large as the mountains behind her and lays facing the sky. Above her is a peachy cloudy sky with a large pink sun. Under her is a scrub desert landscape with brush and cacti in bloom
Illustration of a peach toned and red crab with the Cancer constellation around it as stars. The crab is on a light peach background

No, it is literally like a human bob! Like Edna Mode or something haha
I’ve truly never seen anything like it, I’ve tried to look up this cut and see if others do it and can’t find it
There is a Maltese dog in my neighborhood who’s owners get her fur/ears groomed in a way that makes it look like she has a human style bob haircut and it kills me
It looks like Anna Wintour
I’m doing local ones, yep!
Thank you! When I originally did this set it helped me learn how I wanted wing/feather patterns to look in my art going forward. They are fun to draw!

Cleaning up these two, the Pearl Swan and the Cerise Swan, as I wanted to start selling these at markets. They were mascots at my Patreon until I have started teaching again and have paused my Patreon for the time being. When I reopen I want to start up with new tier mascots for everyone!
Currently at PNCA! I’m lucky to have such wonderful students☺️

Lovely day yesterday to have a zoo trip with my class. Went to draw the animals, stayed for the wonderfully sunny weather
It is one of my favorite days to be an instructor. You get to see some fun creatures and lots of growth in the student work while out in the field
The people who ALWAYS try to convince me to use AI (in art, in life, etc) are my age or much older, so save your breath
Shockingly the breathless reporting on AI isn’t being made by everyday folks, so it isn’t as pervasive as people have been convinced it is
I also think this is a “the young people do this thing” that they always do to try to make themselves feel better than the generations under them
Got asked if I let my students ever ask to use AI, and the answer is no! I think a lot of folks got convinced young people are obsessed with it and they just aren’t
I literally make print outs for some classes to fill out by hand, it isn’t a big deal. I’m surprised that people are surprised
