Trump didn’t declare martial law. He built it. His April 28 executive order militarizes police, guts oversight, and punishes dissent. The Insurrection Act report is hidden. Democracy is being signed away—one order at a time. #Resist #Authoritarianism Full Article: www.facebook.com/share/p/16KE...

Chart showing Mark Carney surging as the hypothetical leader of the Liberals. With Carney at the head of the party, vote intention has tightened to a three-point gap between the Liberals and Conservatives, with 40 per cent supporting the latter and 37 per cent the former. This, seemingly at the cost of the New Democrats, who have lost half of their vote intention (21% to 10%) since late December. Under Carney, 42 per cent of 2021 NDP voters say they would support the Liberals, while 44 per cent would vote for the party again.

With Carney’s biggest rival in the race, former Minister of Finance Chrystia Freeland as hypothetical leader, the NDP garners 16 per cent of vote intention instead of 10, and the Liberals drop from 37 per cent to 29 per cent.

To those confidently predicting that in five years Le Pen is French Prez, AfD rules Germany, Farage is UK PM, and Cthulhu will have won Celebrity Love Island, I present what has happened to Canadian polling in TWO MONTHS of Carney campaigning.

A reminder to everyone, the French spend 30% more than us on their NHS per person, and the Germans 50% more.

The NHS is underfunded.

Our German supporters made us realize we made a mistake, and we want to acknowledge it. Germany, you’re in our thoughts. While we’re relieved that AfD was defeated, we understand this is not a moment for celebration. There is still much work ahead, and we stand in solidarity with you.

DOGE lists 1,125 canceled contracts, claiming $7.2 billion in savings—but many were already completed, meaning no money was actually saved. In fact, 417 contracts saved $0, and another 51 added up to less than $1 million.

Misinformation spreads fast—sharing to set the record straight.

DOGE is inflating its savings claims. DOGE counts fully paid contracts as “savings.”

Elon Musk’s U.S. DOGE Service says it has saved $55 billion by cutting jobs, canceling contracts, and renegotiating leases. But a closer look suggests that number is misleading.

I'll give Americans a hint.

Now is when you start demanding the Impeachment of Donald Trump.

Do you want him Impeached?

Spread the message, you won't survive 4 years, you have barely made it 2 weeks.

Dear World, (An Apology From Decent Americans) Dear World,

Dear Leaders of the Free World,

Fight him at every turn.
Make his life miserable.
Expose his ignorance and sociopathy.
Oppose and condemn and marginalize him.
The decent people of this nation are not with him.

We stand with you.

Jasmine Crockett: "The problem is that Americans thought it was okay to take a full fledged criminal and make him the President of the US and then they want to act aghast when he does criminal things. Let me tell you, we have a thug in charge of the US and if we don't wake up we may not have a US"

Back our campaign We must stop mega-donors from warping our democracy. A ban on annual donations over ÂŁ5,000 would cut the influence of big donors on our politics and protect the interests of ordinary voters.

I urge you all to do SOMETHING - this is above all “political differences”. This is about the importance of truth, democracy and fully informed choice.

Who’s with me?

In the face of
- the continuing deterioration of standards of behaviour in politics,
- Elon Musk and others spreading lies and misinformation
- META removing independent fact checking of content on the platforms
I am redoubling my own attempts to counter these trends.

Keir Starmer's very first use of AI should be to ask how working towards rejoining the EU could boost the UK economy.

No matter which frontier AI model you ask (Claude 3.5 Sonnet, O1, GPT-4o, Claude Gemini, Grok etc.) they all agree unanimously that rejoining would bring Britain economic gain.

And so it begins…

You can’t appease these people. They only respond to decisive limits. Don’t implement them and they’ll take the piss.

We are already in a democratic recession.

Labour’s inaction won’t just screw them, it’ll screw us all. Our elections will be bought.

“All donations that originate from abroad, no matter who is the final donor, should be banned. Only UK citizens should be allowed to donate to British political organisations. This would, by necessity mean no donations from private companies; PLCs, LTDs..”

This was the year that was not the year

This was the year that was not the year
I repaired the bathroom tap
and emptied out the kitchen drawer
of a lifetime’s worth of crap.

This was the year that was not the year
in which I launched a new career.
A West End hit eluded me
and so did Time Person of the Year.

This was the year that was not the year
I became a household name.
Action figures were not sold of me.
I wasn’t made a dame.

This was the year that was not the year
I spent less time on my phone.
Nights of passion did not happen
in boutique hotels in Rome.

This was the year that was the year
I didn't get that much done –
much the same as the year before,
much like the one to come.
