This is not the airport, Alan.

Why does this read like a trump statement
Patrick Willems' essay showed me what the Wachowskis were doing to evolve the language of film with SPEED RACER, I appreciate it as a commentary on making the matrix sequels, and adore what you've written here. It's such a fascinating film. None of this has quite rendered it watchable for me.
Also, who needs drug testing when every hit you take is recorded permanently on the blockchain?
This is bad but I don't understand the argument that it's meaningfully different from their notorious policy of requiring sellers not to offer their products that undercut their Amazon listings.
- A reimagined Transmetropolitan (minor updating and dealing with how much of it is too close to reality to seem like satire).
- A procedural set in the world of Kathryn Bigelow's film STRANGE DAYS.
These aren't THAT niche but
The Columbine massacre was on this date in 1999. Instead of energizing our country to get gun violence under control, it kicked off a new normal. One of the best explanations ever of journalism's destructive impact on mass shootings came from Roger Ebert in his review of Gus Van Sant’s “Elephant.”
The anniversary of the Columbine shootings today has reminded me of what I think is the true dividing line between Gen X and Millennials.
If you were in high school or younger for the shootings (that is to say, the class of 1999), you're a millennial.
If you'd already graduated High School: Gen X.
Not this small dick energy podcaster Napoleon listing his agency's "W"s at the top of a fucking frivolous defamation lawsuit.
Related to my last repost, I guess, something I really appreciate about our nationwide normalization of cannabis consumption is that people have generally become a lot less fucking tedious about 4/20.
I'm in the fittest financial shape of my life right now. $700 I could weather.
$1000 would probably still break me.
One of my thoughts on 4/20 is that the general cultural mode of a guy who likes drugs has moved from a kind of hippy let’s all get along sort of guy to a “I am better than you because I do drugs and have become the ubermensch” sort of guy and it’s been a pretty big catastrophe for the human race
I think that believing most evangelicals are using the term with antisemitic intent assumes an understanding of the word (much less actual Pharisees) I've seen no evidence to suggest that they have.
Very few evangelicals learn this. I didn't learn it in 30 years in that space.
Evangelical are taught the Pharisees were Jesus' antagonists because they were doing Judaism the wrong way. They are vilified for their wrongness, not their Judaism--as Jesus is very much understood as a Jew.
anyway I think the lesson everyone should be learning here is that DEI was probably really fucking good for the armed forces because it meant you were hearing opinions like "hey so supply chains matter" and "yo maybe the troops should eat a food"
Starting to think the former CEO of the company that built MechaHitler might be kinda dumb.
Yesterday I remembered Jamie Kilstein.
That was funny.
The idea that CNN exposed it after 62 million attendees is kinda hilarious.
Incredible opsec.
Actual reporting: extreme porn site Motherless dot com had "62 million visits in February" and there's a chat room linked in the comments of a video with 50,000 views where guys talk about how to use date rape drugs
BlueSky: "62 million men attended the online rape academy in February"
The thing about Chappelle’s “I was just making jokes” plea is that he brought Elon Musk out on stage, so y’know.
its so cool that literally every job now is understaffed by 30-50%. its great because i didnt want whatever it was done well or with any care at all. but please keep raising prices anyway
Idk who this is but based on context: lmao
ymmv but i have zero trouble believing that guy fieri has no idea who the tate brothers are. he seems incredibly offline and has an essentially perfect reputation otherwise.
Toledo Blade readers:
the Alien quadrilogy is almost the same pattern, just swap 3 & 4.
This woman is a handpicked Trump supporter from Arkansas and she is less anti-trans than the median Atlantic columnist
The biggest way the US shapes public sentiment is actually IMHO about class and the role of the government.
We don't think we deserve nice things because the media conditions us to think it's out of reach.
i will vote for any candidate who offers up this slogan
