With enormous regret, SLAB is today advising supporters not to vote for ANY Scottish Labour candidate in this election. There are several pro-trans Labour candidates standing on 7 May, but a vote for them would now sadly be an endorsement of explicit transphobia. #NoVotesLabourInMay #TransRightsNow

“The Greens won for a simple reason. Many traditional Labour supporters, in Manchester and across the country, want to see progressive values robustly defended against the far-right, not gleefully abandoned." Andrea Egan, UNISON

The only biosphere in the known universe capable of supporting human life is being turned into a hell planet because most of Earth's governments refuse to stop trying to satisfy the insatiable greed of a plutocracy composed of people who already have more money than they could spend in 20 lifetimes.

A van parked on the pavement outside Virgin Hotel on Cowgate, Edinburgh. The pavement slabs are broken and cracked, creating a trip hazard.
Business waste bins blocking the pavement on Cowgate, Edinburgh.
More business waste bins blocking the pavement on Cowgate, Edinburgh.
Scaffolding and construction compound fully occupying the pavement and part of the road. Pedestrians wishing to pass must walk in the road into on-coming traffic.
Cowgate is truely #Edinburgh 's worst pedestrian experience. The City-Centre Transformation can't come soon enough, but enforcement of existing rules on pavement parking, scaffolding licences, and biz waste would be a start. @cllrcmiller.bsky.social @finlaymcf.bsky.social @leftwing66.bsky.social

Screengrab of a news article headlined 'Migrants arriving on small boats where a child has died should face prosecution, says Cooper'

Been sent this from Eurobike, a prototype balance cargo bike for 3-5 year olds. Just take my money.

Was asked whether the public have lost faith in net zero for radio this morning. I think it's the wrong question. The public still overwhelmingly support climate action. The question is do they trust government to deliver and make good on promises of fairness and prosperity.
✍ Is there really a “war on motorists” in Scotland?
Ahead of this afternoon's debate in parliament, we’ve issued an evidence-based briefing to debunk the claim.
