An old Michel Rivard song has been on my mind lately. It speaks of the Québécois experience in North America. But I think we can all relate now.
"C'est pas toujours facile d'être seule au milieu
D'un continent immense où ils règlent le jeu,
Où ils mènent la danse, où ils sont si nombreux" #cdnpoli
He’s not having it, whatever it is. 😆
It's a weirdly patriotic experience to go grocery shopping in Canada this week.
Just aisle after aisle of people angrily reading labels while occasionally exchanging knowing glances.
Right now, we* get an extra 2 minutes and 30 seconds of daylight with each passing day. By the end of February the rate of change will accelerate to nearly 3 minutes of extra sunlight per day.
*Numbers will vary depending on latitude. Check your local listings.

Canada has a third of the world's freshwater, untold reserves of oil and natural gas, and millions of acres of uninhabited land that's increasingly liveable and farmable as the planet warms.
Nobody should take threats on our sovereignty lightly.

Merry Christmas to all those celebrating. Happy Wednesday to all those who are not. And I hope this day passes bearably and swiftly for anyone struggling today.

Hey local peeps. The Gathering Place is looking for deodorant to fill their Christmas stockings. They have a company who committed to doing 400 stockings. Just need deodorant to add. Anyone maybe have a spare they can add to a collection we could get going? #NLbluesky
A tweet from Americans For Tax Fairness announces that the combined wealth of four wealthy Americans has reached $1 trillion. It names Musk, Bezos, Ellison, and Zuckerberg, noting their wealth was $74 billion twelve years ago.
This is unsustainable, especially now that billionaires are taking over our government.

A white sign with a red outline at Rainbow Riders Therapeutic Riding Centre reads: No smoking. No dogs. Definitely no smoking dogs. And please (all caps) DO NOT FEED THE HORSES.
Saw this sign at Rainbow 🌈 Riders where my daughter volunteers. The third proviso cracked me up.
A sign over the wall at confed that says long term mental healthcare needs to be more accessible.
Did you know that I've reached a point of feeling embarrassed about clogging your feeds with 208 reminders? Especially over here where people are so happy. But yeah. A true picture of feeling embarrassed about not being better after all these years but still needing mental healthcare.
